This was a test of the fps for my computer while fraps was running, I think I might actually be able to do a comp with decent fps after all.

So for your amusment here's one of the most hilarious things I have ever witnessed in a race I was in:

You need to encode your video into a format that people can see. You uploaded the file that Fraps made which is a no no for several reasons. The first reason is that Fraps encodes videos in its own codec. To view the video, you must have Fraps installed. The second reason is that the codec that Fraps uses has little to no compression. This creates very large file sizes. You're 4 second video clip was 47 MB. That is horrible!

Btw, the video itself was pretty short so I don't know what to say about it lol.

I was wondering why it was so big, thanks.

For some reason I thought it automatically saved as an avi. Silly me. :twitcy:

I know it was short, it was a fps test. lol I thought the glitch was funny so I thought that would be the first thing to try out with it.

Are there any good recording programs that are free that record as a wav or avi? All the ones I've found either scramble the sound or play with lower fps than I recorded it at.

Also, if you're computer is sluggish when recording videos here's a neat trick. Play your replay back at 1/2 speed and record it. With this method, you can actually turn on all of your graphic settings that you normally couldn't . Then take the video and speed it up 100% in a video editor. You will have a very smooth video + great fps + great quality.

Well, it was pretty smooth so I don't think I have that problem, but is there a way to convert a fraps file to a wav or avi?

Wav is only audio.

The best quality format to use is H264. Youtube has a list of approved codecs.

Here's the list of some well-known formats which YouTube supports:

* WebM files (Vp8 video codec and Vorbis Audio codec)
* .MPEG4, 3GPP and MOV files - (typically supporting h264 and mpeg4 video codecs and AAC audio codec)
* .AVI (Many cameras output this format - typically the video codec is MJPEG and audio is PCM)
* .MPEGPS (Typically supporting MPEG2 video codec and MP2 audio)
* .WMV
* .FLV (Adobe - FLV1 video codec, MP3 audio)
