I thought they were, but you can't tell me this guy wasn't using. I know the drivers are (or supposed to be), but the crew should too. They're out there on the track in really dangerous situations. I don't need Stoney McCrackhead changing my tires wrong or worse, getting in front of another car.

Not everyone that sells use. Nascar has kicked out a lot of crew members for using drugs, maybe this guy didn't get the random draw. The teams were suppose to be responsible to do their own drug tests.

Pretty sure he used too. Ten pounds of weed? Come on that just screams "I hit the bong all day long". Technically you're right but that is a very very small chunk of only growers.

I really don't know why marijuana is illegal and alcohol isn't.

I don't know why he is "stupid" or a "dumbass" for drug use (keep in mind alcohol IS a drug) off and away from his job. It's the people who abuse it that are the dumb ones. Never in my life have I heard of a death from marijuana, but I can't go a weekend without hearing on the news that some jackass driving $hitfaced killing someone. It's just backwards to me.

You put into words what I was thinking. Some folks in this thread are treating this guy like he ate a live kitten. As far as illegal drugs go, marijuana is about the tamest of them. I'm not going to defend this guy because as long as it's illegal, it's stupid to be trafficking it like that, but marijuana is a pretty tame substance compared to something like meth, which can explode before it's even consumed.

I know most of us here would love to be on a cup team............I know I would.Drug addiction or anything related to it is a sad thing.Some people don't know how lucky they are and waste life doing stupid things.

It doesn't matter what the crime is. If you commit a crime, expect consequences to come from all sides, including your employer. Employers hire, and fire, based upon character, and a good deal of character evaluation is done by viewing criminal history.

Back in the day, they used to say 'Don't do the crime if you can't do the time." Somehow that's become, "It shouldn't be a crime, so I shouldn't have to do the time." I don't know how that happened, but it's not a good thing.
