Has anyone, for a moment, thought about FRR starting a second team? I know it's a stretch, but Truex is a great spokesperson (although that's because he gets paid to be), and I could see some company wanting to sponsor him for that.

That's what I thought at first, but who would be the other driver

Well, now, I don't know. I would say Bobby Labonte is done, Jeff Burton might be free, but he might be going to TBR. If that happens, either Dave Blaney or Yeley is out of a ride, and could fill that spot. What about Hornish, who has a shot at the Nationwide title and has no job after November? Any of these drivers, in my opinion, have a shot if it were to happen. Just depends on who lays down the money (sponsorship wise).....

Let's stay on topic folks. If you want to discuss possibilities of FRR running a 2nd car in 2014, please start a new thread.

What a shame. I feel awful for Martin Truex. I mean, he didn't have any idea what was going on during the race at Richmond. He's not even the one that started all of this controversy. Yet, he loses a major sponsor and now it's unlikely to see him back at MWR next year. Bowyer and Vickers are getting away clean... sigh.

Lot's of people lose their jobs over this:(
But, hey Jeffy's in the chase so it's all goodc.c

Are you seriously blaming this on Jeff Gordon?

Fixed that for you.

Not always. Michael came out and said he stood behind everyone at MWR. But if he would now come out and fires Ty he would be going back on what he said and the damage from standing with him is already done.

Not necessarily. Given the circumstance I think it would be understandable. Ty Norris is an asset but colossal screw ups like Richmond are fireable ground for anyone. Especially since it lost them their biggest sponsor, forced them to downsize and possibly now lost one of their lead drivers.

No, but since the "casual fans" and NASCAR got Jeffy in the chase all else is irrelevant

As a huge Jeff Gordon fan, I will try to tackle this without sounding biased...

First of all, why are you totally forgetting the driver that was put at the greatest disadvantage? That would be Ryan Newman, and the initial investigation into MWR's actions has to do with Newman getting totally screwed. Furthermore, this is the fault of the MWR ORGANIZATION. The reason that Truex is getting screwed is because NAPA backed out, not wanting to be associated with MWR anymore. That was a team decision, not one based on Truex, Newman, or Jeff Gordon..

It's not Newman's fault either. Take your Gordon hate somewhere else, please.

If NAPA were strong enough to support Truex.......
