My First NASCAR race

The vendors/merchandise trailers in Vegas run from the edge of parking lot all the way up to the gates. I went super early back in '09 and left with TONS of free stuff. Oh and Vegas probably has thee coolest flyover ever with the USAF Thunderbirds.

I went to Vegas in 2008, and it was a blast! I had a parking pass so getting in and out was a breeze. I got back to my hotel on the strip in 30 minutes after the race. One of the best race experiences I've been to (besides the Indy 500). I didn't do much on the strip, but the Sahara was still open then and they had the NASCAR stuff there. I know it has closed since then, but Planet Hollywood was fun too. They had the Underbird at the Hooters Casino when I went, maybe it's still there. It's been 6 years, so who knows what's changed, but the track was awesome.

Do it! I just had a total impulse buy for Bristol tickets. Rather spend my spring break there than the beach.

I agree 110%.

In 2011 it was the weekend before the dega race and we was trying to decide what to do. Mom was luckily off the weekend of the race so i said lets go to Talladega yup we was not prepared at all. Saturday we froze because of the wind and sunday we got roasted. and then the year after it was either going to the race or beach and yep i choose the race.(y) One of these days i wanna go to some different races but its hard to beat Dega i wanna go to dover really bad but thats a pretty good hike from were we live.

Pit passes are awesome! Got some for the Coke 600 in 2012 and it was all fun. You get to walk on pit road, behind the pit boxes, and in the middle of the track. You can't go to the garage, though, we weren't. You can walk on the track too, and if there's a band playing you also get to see that. (I think Darius Rucker played when we were there)

Also, if you don't like your seats and there are empty elsewhere, go there. (you'll be fine unless someone comes up and actually has that seat) Did it at Atlanta in 2012 as well. Our original tickets were right in turn four and we moved to the S/F line and could see the whole track.

sorry for the lack of updates I don't get free wifi.Las Vegas is pretty cool I'm mostly excited for the NASCAR activities tommorow! I'll have to update this thread better when I get home.

All I can say is WOW!!! The first thing I noticed was the size of the track its huge in person! Las Vegas is cool but the best part was definitely the races Matt Kenseth got loose right in front of me basically in saturday's race. The flyover on Sunday was so amazing! The next thing I noticed was just how loud the cars are I mean holy crap it sounds literally like a thunderstorm when they all fire their cars at the same time. I also got some autographs at my motel/casino. I also got Jr and Letarte's autograph secondhand. Lastly I nearly got to see my favorite driver (Jr) win the race darn it. overall it exceeded my expectations by far I loved it and hope to go to a race again in the future. Thank you all for your replies and I hope you all get to experience NASCAR in person because I will remember it for the rest of my life.

p.s. paint schemes in real life are 100x better in person as well.

Like I said, the vibrancy of the cars in real life can't compare to seeing it on a tv screen =)
