Nice car, honest message, and it's got the blue badge. 10/10.

I must point out, that Al Gore easily won the popular vote. That is in the statistics. Unfortunately, Florida screwed up and now we've had mistakes and a pointless war in the last 10 years.

Can't you loony leftists let that go? He didn't win in the states that matter. End of story.

Deragatory comment...I consider that an insult. I'm not an American capitalist. The statistics don't lie. We got Bush, easily one of the dumbest American presidents.

Don't assume.

This is why we can't have political debates here.

How would Al "The Great" Gore have done with 9/11? Iraq? Al-Quidea?

We can have debates. We just need to RESPECT each other. Engage, debate, enjoy! Just don't let it get to childish name calling and bickering. Disagree with each other, do everything in your power to prove the other person wrong, if it suits you...just show some respect when having these kind of discussions, and no one will have a problem.

I'm looking at you Bucket. You've had your nose in a lot of these as a bit of an instigator lately. Just chill.

And Jeff...if you're looking to avoid the bitching and bickering that this has the potential to go into, I wouldn't use "dumbest"...least effective, or far below par work just as well, but don't come off nearly as snippy or instigative.

This thread has been great for discussion so far...because it has been respectful. Keep it that way, and we won't have any problems. Enter into bitching and name calling and childish behaviors, and there may very well be some consequences.

Now...I don't like Gore either, but he did win the popular vote. That, is a fact.

Well said. I enjoy debating very much, I was a bit of a hypocrite there, though...

Every time we get into this, the no politics rule that many other sites enforce seems like a better and better idea among this group....

The earth is made up of 70% water. So that leaves us 30% for us to inhabit. Of that 30%, how much is actually inhabited? Half? I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem like enough to have an impact on the atmosphere.

Oh I have waited and waited to comment on this. FIRST and foremost. Awesome car! You could use that base also for a cool Mario/Nintendo game base. It's clean and eye catching. Great work. Makes me wanna paint again.

Now about the global warming. Cause why not, lets talk it out!

I won't state what I believe in because I feel that it hold no bearing to facts, science, stats, and so forth. But if I had to pin point my position, it would be somewhere in the middle. Not because it's safe, but because that's more than likely how it 'really is'.
For people to state that the earth, environment and all things that we as humans can screw up, are so much more vast than there are of us, is something I have to disagree with. In physics you always have a equal to, but often more, greater reaction. In this day and age where we get more for less in manufacturing, one person can do more than a group could 100 years ago. For instance, with proper tools, farmers in Brazil can wipe out 5 square acers of rain forest a day. That's one farmer. The ground is only good for one harvest and after that, nothing can grow there. That means that hundreds and thousand year old trees are gone in turn for a dirt field. Now that's not a big issue unless of course the rain forest produced 1/3rd of the Earth's oxygen. Which it does. We need those trees to convert C02 into oxygen.
So from there we can now talk about 'global warming'. Is it true? Not exactly. (this is why I'm in the middle). I'm gonna lay it down in easy terms so there isn't any confusion. The sun shines on the earth. Heats things up. The atomosphere keeps the heat in and then releases it back out. If the C02 count is to high, it doesn't get released. That heats things up. That's not to bad of a thing in doses and as long as it's not over an extended period of time. The Earth has had this happen before with sun flares and from big rocks slamming into it over millions of years. Volcanoes also release C02, in which the Earth is at the ready to handle.
The problem is in the fact of human intervention. Not so much in manufacturing, but in gathering of resources, consumer waste and poor design of products. For instance, I have a little dust bunny broom. It's good for a couple uses and then you throw the head away and put on a new one. Works great! But the head of this broom is a huge chunk of plastic that snaps on to a metal pole. I can go through about 5 heads a week. Plastic isn't biodegradable, which means it will always be around. Long after us, that chunky plastic dust bunny head will be floating around somewhere.
Back to the C02, the heat from the sun needs to get out of the atmosphere soon enough or things will get to hot. In one way that it bounces back is from polar ice caps. But a problem with that is the fact that there is to much C02 thus the Ice caps melt and then the heat from the sun just stay here. If the ice melts, the ocean rises. Islands disappear. Like the one in India last week. Gone. If the ice melts also, the plankton that eats the stuff from the ice die and the whales that eat those go other places and eventually die. Coral becomes extinct and so forth and on down the line. Chain reaction. Everything needs to work in conjunction with each other. If anything breaks down, the whole system stops. I'm not going to go as far as saying that people are the hand behind this, but they can't be helping.
In final, what you do or do not do to help out may not seem like a big issue, but you have to remember that there are 6 billion other people in this world doing the same thing as you. And when you talk about those kinds of numbers, the impact is quite astounding. All you have to do, if you believe in this stuff or not, is that, what would it hurt to adjust some small thing(s). If it's all a sham, so what, nothing out of your pocket or dirt on your shoulder.

Ps. Try turning the water off while you brush your teeth. ;)

While I don't agree with JeffJordan's stance, could we please get off the topics of politics?
At this rate it's going to result in this thread's demise if it heats up again.

@hoosierdaddy: The island was bound to disappear anyway, it was formed almost solely by a single hurricane and was being plowed by a river current, also it's only existed for about four decades and wasn't even a square mile large so it was pretty much a sand bar.
