NASCAR Race Scheme History

Hey guys, I am in need of some help. I am writing an essay for English, and I am doing it on the history of NASCAR Paint Schemes. I really have no idea about the older schemes, say pre-1980's. If anyone has any links to history for race schemes around the 60's and 70's, it would be great. Maybe some of you history lovers, or older gentlemen and ladies could help me out. Thanks a lot!

I don't know much about older schemes but I figured I could help you out and tell you some schemes you should most definitely include in your essay. I think the evolution of the Budweiser scheme would be a great talking point. Also the obvious petty blue schemes and Dale Earnhardt. There's also some iconic paint schemes out there that nascar fans and even some casual fans know who it is right away. I think Terry Labonte's kellogg's corn flakes scheme from the mid to late 90's is a very iconic one. Along with Davey Allison's havoline scheme.

I'm sure you'll do fine with this essay and I hope you don't mind me asking but When it's all done with you think you could possibly upload the essay? As someone who has always been fascinated with schemes (The reason I became a Terry Labonte fan as a young child) I would love to read your essay.

If I were doing a NASCAR themed essay for an English class, I might have chosen a slightly different topic. Perhaps one on NASCAR and "redneck" terms and their meanings. I would also include a section on commentator mispronunciation and poor grammar. LOL

Haven't been on lately. Thanks Exterminator. I am currently at the Art Institutes for my Graphic Design degree, so the essay needed to have to do with Graphic Design, and my passion is motorsports design, so that is what my essay is. It just mainly focuses on NASCAR, because doing motorsports as a whole is too broad of a subject.
