New to NR2K3, Need some advice

I finally got round to buying Nr2K3 simply because the mods and the vids I've seen YouTube (that and it still looks the best nascar game out) but I need some advice on Mods etc. I've been lurking around nr2k3tracks.com for weeks and I want to know what I need to download the 2009 Sprint Cup Car sets. I'm figuring the COT mod, the official patch and perhaps NR2007... is this right? Also what are the best track graphics updates/enhancements? And best tracks to download?
Also does anyone know where to find the mods for ARCA, USAR, IMCA and Late Models.

no need for NR2007, all you need is the official patch (you need it for all mods) and register at superspeedway.net and download the SS.net COT mod and the SS.net COT 1.04 update.

For tracks, saferbarrierproject and revamped tracks are the best out there.

As for graphics enhancements, search at NNRacing.com for ambulance, fire truck, tow truck, then go here, this guy made a ton of updates NNRacing.com | Your Auto Racing sim community-Shane profile

when searching for ambulance there are 2 different ambulances in the game, updates were made for both of them at nnracing

Yeah don't mess with NR2007 it's not anything to write home about it.

If it's like NR2005 (ie illegal copy) then that's why it's not liked

Cheers for that, great response. I found some short oval tracks at the American Short Track Group, short track sim, windy city racing and some Canadian tracks at WKRT but I'm not sure if you can play Sprint Cup cars at them or how many cars you can run. Haven't got round to trying!

all mods can be raced on all tracks, you do have to do some editing before hand to get GTP tracks to work on the regular mods and regular tracks to work on GTP mod, but GTP mod can get way too complicated for an intro to NR2003 thread.

Is the GTP mod for road and track circuits? I'm only really interested in ovals.
