Hey guys I need your help. For years I've just downloaded other people's cars and now I want to start making my own. I wanna be able to make cars from the BR11 and the new nationwide series mod. What do I need to download to be able to do that?

Thanks,
-Josiah

First, you need to download GIMP (that is just me.) Next download the templates from here and Bullring. Note: If you use GIMP, make sure the templates are in PSD form. Third, open up GIMP and make sure you saved the templates and then open them up. This templates will have layers will be labeled. Paint in car body or something like that. For making a car, I like to use here, masgrafx, and Scott Huhn's site (you have to register to get his stuff though.)

Happy Painting,

First you need a paint program: Adobe Photoshop, Paint.net, or Gimp works (the last 2 are free)
Second you need the respective templates that can be downloaded here at SRD.
If you are not quite ready to paint your own numbers/bases/logos there are a host of sites that offer those.

Hey guys, I got everything downloaded and I've messed around with it some. I ended up going with GIMP. Are there any tutorials posted anywhere I could watch to learn how to use it? Thanks for everything, I appreciate it.

There are tutorials right on this site (y)
They are at the bottom of the Home page.

Often things are quite similar, from one graphics program to another. So even if you're using gimp, answers to your questions, might be found in Photoslop or Paint. Worth checking out the other tutorials too.

Gongrat's on taking the plunge. Never heard anyone say, "I tried, but painting my own car wasn't fun." Your own paint will be way faster too. Don't know why. Just is. (y)
