**This thread has been approved by a mod**

Hi everyone,

As some of you know (or may not) I have been working on the UI Enhancements 2013 mod for NR2003 for well over a year now. Today I am coming before you (the NR2003 community) to better understand how you like to race in NR2003 to help improve upon and implement possible features to the new UI racing mod. This is an unknown area we have stepped into with many possibilities and options. To better sharpen the focus of desired content in the final months before release I've created this thread for that purpose. My test team has been testing fully functional new and never before seen UI racing content for quite some time now. And yes, while lots of content has been made we still have a long road ahead of us. I am not here to really talk about the UI mod itself though. Instead I want to know from you all the specific ways you like racing in NR2003.

Before you start answering and discussing the following questions please keep a few things in mind:

- be respectful towards others and their style of racing. UI Enhancements 2013 will have (and does have) something for everyone whether you are a hardcore cockpit only type of guy/gal or someone that enjoys the rear chase cams with as much information on your screen as possible. Do not bash or berate others for racing more 'serious' or 'casual'.

- The more information you can share on why you race the way you do will be extremely helpful. It may not make sense why now but in future months it will =)

- whether you just got NR2003 or have been a hardcore fan of it since day 1 release your feedback is important. The more veteran feedback I get is just as helpful as those who have fresh eyes and just started playing it. Do not feel left out if you don't have as much experience in NR2003.

- this is obviously feedback for the UI in NR2003 so if you don't care about it or race with any UI (and never plan to ever) you may not find this questionnaire worth your time.

- please no asking when the UI Enhancements 2013 will be released or what content has been finished. While this questionnaire does hint at some of the possible things you may see that's all I will say about it.

Questions:

Section 1 - common questions

1) Do you race with any UI in NR2003 like the f-keys, gauges, and speed indicator turned on? (if you answer no please skip down past section #4)

2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?

3) If you race with the f-keys which key is the most important / the one you have on the most? and why? (below is listed the different f-keys that can be open)

F1 Key = Car position, lap times, laps to go, weather, etc
F2 Key = Current race standings
F3 Key = Fuel information
F4 Key = Tire Temperatures
F5 Key = Tire wear
F6 Key = Wedge adjustments
F7 Key = Track Bar
F8 Key = Grill Tape
F9 Key = Pit options

4) Do you use the speed indicator when racing? why or why not? (note: when this is turned on flag indicators appear while racing as well)

5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?

6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)

Bumper cam
Roof Cam
Cockpit
Close Chase
Far chase
other (using a program like cam hack to make your own view, please explain that view you race in then)

7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)

8) How often do you use the replay mode in NR2003?

9) Do you like to personalize your NR2003 main menu with custom mainbacks? why or why not?

10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?

11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?

12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)

Section 2 - content questions

1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?

2) Do you want your racing layout to be more flashy ? (like with sponsors and more design) or more bare with only the essentials needed when racing?

3) Do you race with specific real race car driver's cars or a fictional driver often? (for example you only race with Jeff Gordon's cars). If so, would you like UI that is personalized specifically to that driver's sponsor and car number?

4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?

5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?

6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates
would be provided so you could design your own layout)

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for taking the time to read through and participate in the discussion! As I've said probably a million times before I'm putting 110% effort into this project leaving no stone unturned or possible option left out. Right down to the pixels on the screen everything is being scrutinized under a microscope. My test team and I will take your feedback and information seriously as we help shape UI Enhancements 2013 into something all can enjoy and that will be a mod for NR2003 that many will (hopefully) enjoy, share, and build upon for years to come.

thanks,

1) Do you race with any UI in NR2003 like the f-keys, gauges, and speed indicator turned on? (if you answer no please skip down past section #4)

Yes

2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?

Offline only. Don't have the time to run in an online league.

3) If you race with the f-keys which key is the most important / the one you have on the most? and why? (below is listed the different f-keys that can be open)

F1 Key = Car position, lap times, laps to go, weather, etc
F2 Key = Current race standings

F5 Key = Tire wear

F9 Key = Pit options

4) Do you use the speed indicator when racing? why or why not? (note: when this is turned on flag indicators appear while racing as well)

Yeah. Out of habit mostly, though. It's easier for me to read the legitimate MPH readout than try and guess off of RPM (guess I'm not a TRUE sim racer lol)

5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?

Yes, even though I use the Speed/Flag indicator, the Gauges do come in handy.

6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)

Roof Cam
Cockpit

It's just preference really.
7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)

Of course! Not that I use them always :p

8) How often do you use the replay mode in NR2003?

Because I run offline leagues, I'm ALWAYS in the Replay mode.

9) Do you like to personalize your NR2003 main menu with custom mainbacks? why or why not?

Yeah, it's easier to differentiate different mods/carsets by mainback than it is by logo or text.

10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?

While I don't mind the current layout, a change in look would be nice.

11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?
Yup. I run two leagues under the Chatbox banner, the Winston Cup (BR13) and Camping World Truck Series (pwf cts)

12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)
In all honesty, whatever looks good on my monitor is what I use lol

Section 2 - content questions
1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?

Yup, I have both of your updates actually, and they are beyond expectation.

I usually try and mix it up, so no, I usually keep it as a network/neutral.

4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?

My favorite colour is Black (lol). I always liked seeing a carbon fiber texture for Racing.

5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?

Of course!! haha

6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates
would be provided so you could design your own layout)

Those would be nice. Or even an .exe that packs em up and makes 'em ready to go.

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)

Depends on the practicality and usability of the redesigned main menu.

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?

Yeah, I'd be interested. Really to see how you can test the limits without messing with the .exe.

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?

I do not.

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)

I'd attempt to learn it. Depends on difficulty and how time-consuming it is to learn it.

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?

Just got a new HD put in my desktop and a new laptop. So I got loooaaddsss of space. lol

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?

I would like it, as long as the ideas stay fresh and unique. Like after awhile I don't wanna be like 'is this dude ever gonna stop updating the same thing over and over again?'

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?
It's very important. As they say, two heads are better than one. And I truly believe if the community put aside all the petty bulls*it, then we could come up with some extraordinary things for this sim.

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)

As an offline league owner, I'd love to see moving tickers if that was ever possible.

Section 1 - common questions

1) Do you race with any UI in NR2003 like the f-keys, gauges, and speed indicator turned on? (if you answer no please skip down past section #4)

Yes

2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?

I race both online and offline, mostly online for leagues but if I have the time to play offline I will.

3) If you race with the f-keys which key is the most important / the one you have on the most? and why? (below is listed the different f-keys that can be open)

F1 Key = Car position, lap times, laps to go, weather, etc
F2 Key = Current race standings
F3 Key = Fuel information
F5 Key = Tire wear
F9 Key = Pit options

These are the only F keys that I really need to use for racing.

4) Do you use the speed indicator when racing? why or why not? (note: when this is turned on flag indicators appear while racing as well)

Yes

5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?

Yes, because I'd much rather just look at mph and just see the green flag on the guage rather than just guessing. lol

6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)

Cockpit

7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)

On

8) How often do you use the replay mode in NR2003?

Quite often

9) Do you like to personalize your NR2003 main menu with custom mainbacks? why or why not?

I wouldn't make a mainback myself but I like to use other custom ones I find.

10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?

I'm used to what we have now but a change wouldn't be bad

11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?

Yes, I run my own league here at SRD.

12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)

Lol, whatever is the best looking.

Section 2 - content questions

1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?

No, I kept telling myself to get one but I just forgot, lol.

2) Do you want your racing layout to be more flashy ? (like with sponsors and more design) or more bare with only the essentials needed when racing?

It wouldn't really matter to me.

3) Do you race with specific real race car driver's cars or a fictional driver often? (for example you only race with Jeff Gordon's cars). If so, would you like UI that is personalized specifically to that driver's sponsor and car number?

Usually I run with my own cars that I made.

4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?

Green is my favorite color but I don't know how good it would look in game, lol.

5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?

Yes

6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates
would be provided so you could design your own layout)

If they were available I might use them, it would depend on the situation.

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)

I'm used to what we have now but a change wouldn't be a bad thing.

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?

Like I said before I'm used to what we have but a change wouldn't be bad.

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?

No

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)

If I had to use it I would learn the program but I'm most likely not going to go out of my way to learn another program, lol.

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?

The smaller the better lol. I don't have very much space on here, I still use the family's pc.

Whenever the community helps out it's usually a good thing.

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)

A scrolling ticker for my offline league would look great.

Questions:

Section 1 - common questions

1) Do you race with any UI in NR2003 like the f-keys, gauges, and speed indicator turned on? (if you answer no please skip down past section #4)

Yes. As a backmarker, F2 is my best friend to see when the leaders are coming to get out of their way.

2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?

Both. Not so much online now due to my personal commitments. Mostly still race on the Super Speedways where I have a chance to win, as I'm rather awful everywhere else.

3) If you race with the f-keys which key is the most important / the one you have on the most? and why? (below is listed the different f-keys that can be open)

F2. Again, since I'm a backmarker on most tracks, I have to leave that open to know when the leaders are coming so I can know when to give them the preferred line.

4) Do you use the speed indicator when racing? why or why not? (note: when this is turned on flag indicators appear while racing as well)

Yes. It almost pains me to see it because most of the time I'm hopelessly off the pace. :p

5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?

Yes...especially when in the big packs on Super Speedways.

6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)

Bumper cam
Roof Cam
Cockpit
Close Chase
Far chase
other (using a program like cam hack to make your own view, please explain that view you race in then)

Far Chase. It's a view I'm so used to having played other arcade racing games. I could never totally get used to the cockpit.

7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)

On.

8) How often do you use the replay mode in NR2003?

I use it when I rip replays from my league's fun racing session to grab insane wrecks for upload.

9) Do you like to personalize your NR2003 main menu with custom mainbacks? why or why not?

Yes. Sometimes I just like to put my own picture on it.

10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?

I'm so used to it by now, I wouldn't change it.

11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?

Yes to all of the above. I just don't have the time to keep up with most of it!

12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)

Windowed. Don't know the exact resolution I play at though.

Section 2 - content questions

1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?

Yes, and Yes.

2) Do you want your racing layout to be more flashy ? (like with sponsors and more design) or more bare with only the essentials needed when racing?

I prefer just the essentials, but as long as they're still there and not covered up, it won't bother me.

3) Do you race with specific real race car driver's cars or a fictional driver often? (for example you only race with Jeff Gordon's cars). If so, would you like UI that is personalized specifically to that driver's sponsor and car number?

I use my own cars, but a UI with those alterations would be nice too.

4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?

Black & Red are my favorite colors. Got no preference for them on a racing layout though. As long as I'm able to see the text, we'll have no problems. :p

5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?

I'd love that.

6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates would be provided so you could design your own layout)

It's not important...as I have no creativity whatsoever :p

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)

I'm so used to the menu as it is...so probably not. I'd try it anyway though.

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?

Yes. Especially if it could become easier to save clips as video files to view outside of game, as I do upload crash comps from the league I run in from time to time.

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?

No.

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)

Probably not. Personally, I'd leave the likes of cam hack to those who know what they're doing.

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?

It plays a small factor, but usually file size won't stop me from downloading something if the file quality is good.

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?

I don't have a lot of space, but that's why I have the delete button. I'll make space :p

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?

I think everyone can have input as far as enhancements go as long as they are valid ones. In the end, it's up to the creator(s) to decide whether or not to use said input.

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)

Actually, I like most of the layouts as they are. Of course, I don't mind any new innovations that you may be able to come up with.

Answers above in Italics. :)

Section 1 - common questions

1) Do you race with any UI in NR2003 like the f-keys, gauges, and speed indicator turned on? (if you answer no please skip down past section #4)

Yes.

2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?

Offline, primarily (because I don't have a wheel at the moment)

3) If you race with the f-keys which key is the most important / the one you have on the most? and why? (below is listed the different f-keys that can be open)

f2, I like to see how far ahead or behind cars are so that I can safely pass cars that are too slow and get out of the way of much faster cars.

F1 Key = Car position, lap times, laps to go, weather, etc
F2 Key = Current race standings
F3 Key = Fuel information
F4 Key = Tire Temperatures
F5 Key = Tire wear
F6 Key = Wedge adjustments
F7 Key = Track Bar
F8 Key = Grill Tape
F9 Key = Pit options

4) Do you use the speed indicator when racing? why or why not? (note: when this is turned on flag indicators appear while racing as well)

Yes, mostly for the flag indicators.

5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?

Yes, otherwise I have no idea what I'm doing.

6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)

Roof Cam, it's just the easiest to use when drafting because you can easily see the nose.

Bumper cam
Roof Cam
Cockpit
Close Chase
Far chase
other (using a program like cam hack to make your own view, please explain that view you race in then)

7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)

Only after a close finish or a major wreck.

9) Do you like to personalize your NR2003 main menu with custom mainbacks? why or why not?

No preference.

10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?

Overall, it's a well designed game. I'm using some custom f-keys right now that look a little more modern, and that seems to work fine. Wouldn't mind minor graphic updates.

11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?

I'm a painter, not much of a racer.

12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)

1920x1080

Section 2 - content questions

1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?

Yes, and yes. It seems to be fine, certainly much better than the original.

2) Do you want your racing layout to be more flashy ? (like with sponsors and more design) or more bare with only the essentials needed when racing?

More bare. I want the information, not the visuals.

3) Do you race with specific real race car driver's cars or a fictional driver often? (for example you only race with Jeff Gordon's cars). If so, would you like UI that is personalized specifically to that driver's sponsor and car number?

Fictional.

4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?

White on black is the most readable.

5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?

Probably not.

6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates
would be provided so you could design your own layout)

Not very important, unless the ones provided in the update were horrible.

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)

Not really. It's fine as-is.

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?

Probably not. It's easy to use right now.

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?

Nope.0

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)

No. Not worth the trouble.

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?

Not a major issue.

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?

I would enjoy looking at it, probably wouldn't install much of it once I found something I liked.

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?

Whoever can do it best. If that means just having one group work on it, I'm all for it.

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)

Just keep it simple and clean, and thanks for doing this!

Yes I do.

2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?
Offline only now. I don't do leagues. I can't use a mic and teamspeak.

3) If you race with the f-keys which key is the most important / the one you have on the most? and why? (below is listed the different f-keys that can be open)

F1 Key = Car position, lap times, laps to go, weather, etc I check this every few minutes/under caution.

Yes, to gauge when to accelerate.

5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?
Yes, to keep an eye on everything.

6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)

Bumper cam short tracks/road courses
Cockpit speedways
Far chase plate tracks

7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)
Its always on.

8) How often do you use the replay mode in NR2003?

Yes, to keep the game feeling fresh.

10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?
I think its fine the way/where it is.

11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?
I don't really do seasons for the ai. I normally just watch/race single races with the ai.

12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)
1440x900(also my screens native res) but the fkeys get cut off on the side as i've brought up before.

Section 2 - content questions

1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?
I use a mix of both yours and Roguetoads and very much so.

2) Do you want your racing layout to be more flashy ? (like with sponsors and more design) or more bare with only the essentials needed when racing?
I like flashy if it looks good but simple works too.

3) Do you race with specific real race car driver's cars or a fictional driver often? (for example you only race with Jeff Gordon's cars). If so, would you like UI that is personalized specifically to that driver's sponsor and car number?
I race my own cars and yes I would.

4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?
Isn't it obvious? lol

5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?
I would atleast try them out.

6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates
would be provided so you could design your own layout)
I wouldn't mind giving it a try myself.

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)
Only if it could be done something like the following...
Decrease the main menu text by atleast 2/3.
Move all of the text buttons to one side(still on bottom half) allowing for the series/league logos to go on the other side.

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?
The only thing I could think of is the field info(s key) popup menu. Make it completely horizontal like a ticker but ofcourse keeping its current functionallity(left/right=stats mode, up/down=scroll through field(unless they can be switched), ten cars per page).

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?
No, i do not.

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)
If its a layout that I liked then I would give it a try for sure.

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?
Im not too worried about space.

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?
If its stuff that interests me sure I would check it out.

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?
I don't see why not. Though maybe have a community section on ADRD for these?

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)
Just a ticker(user operated) while watching the ai(live or in replays) is all I can think of.

IT WOULD BE A NICE ADDITION, BUT I DOUBT I WOULD TAKE THE TIME CUSTOMIZE IT.

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)

NO, CHANGE FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGE WITHOUT IMPROVING PERFORMANCE IS NOT NECESSARY.

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?

NO

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?

I USED TO.

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)

YES, I LIKE TO SLIGHTLY ALTER ROOF CAMS

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?

BRAND NEW GIGANTIC HARD DRIVE AVAILABLE

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?

POTENTIALLY. I TYPICALLY DON'T CONTINUALLY CHANGE THINGS LIKE UI VERY MUCH

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?

VERY IMPORTANT. WITH A 10 YEAR OLD SIM, IT'S IMPORTANT THAT THE COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER AND BECOMES MORE CENTRALIZED TO KEEP THIS SIM MOVING AND CONSTANTLY UPDATING.

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)

thanks everyone for the replies and submitting your feedback! I'm already starting to see some positive trends in what racers like. This info will greatly help in the months forward to refine the content.

I've also noticed an almost unanimous request to the last question for wanting to see a ticker / a moving one. I will just say right now that any sort of animation for the racing UI is simply not possible. The limitations of NR2003 unfortunately hold me back from doing anything such as that. However your hopes of seeing some sort of ticker design will not be dashed to the rocks. I think you will be quite pleased when you see the final results for all the layout choices.

Section 1 - common questions

1) Do you race with any UI in NR2003 like the f-keys, gauges, and speed indicator turned on? (if you answer no please skip down past section #4)

Yes I use a lot of your enhancements.

2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?

I only race offline because when i try and play online, no matter what it never works.

3) If you race with the f-keys which key is the most important / the one you have on the most? and why? (below is listed the different f-keys that can be open)

I mainly use these 4 F keys because for starters, i like to know where everyone is on track and what times they are running, F4 & F5 helps with tyres and how they are going, and i like to do races that include at least 1 pitstop and i need F9 to help with that.

F2 Key = Current race standings
F4 Key = Tire Temperatures
F5 Key = Tire wear
F9 Key = Pit options

4) Do you use the speed indicator when racing? why or why not? (note: when this is turned on flag indicators appear while racing as well)

Yes I do use the speed indicators to allow me to see what speed im going while racing

5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?

Yes I race with the gauges because I'm a superspeedway fan and my car can get hot, and i like to shift at the perfect moment to get the most out of the car.

6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)

I really like to use the cameras that are around the cockpit area like the roof and cockpit cameras mainly because they are realistic and just because i like looking at the hood of my cars ;)

Roof Cam
Cockpit

7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)

Yes

8) How often do you use the replay mode in NR2003?

Whenever I have a good Race with ai or a big crash, I like to save it so I can go back and watch it when ever, but my answer is not very often

9) Do you like to personalize your NR2003 main menu with custom mainbacks? why or why not?

No, because in my opinion it is pointless since it doesn't enhance the way the car works in any aspect

10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?

Well... Since I found your enhancements, the original ones can go die in a hole because yours crap all over it, so yes I like very different

11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?

Yes, I love having Ai seasons, they are actually really interesting, especially when the ratings are the same, I have had many close seasons since I started

12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)

1024x768x16

Section 2 - content questions

1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?

Yes I do have your 2012 Enhancements on my computer, it is more than satisfactory in my opinion, it looks amazing and is designed very well, thank you for making it :)

2) Do you want your racing layout to be more flashy ? (like with sponsors and more design) or more bare with only the essentials needed when racing?

I like a bit of color and design in my racing, if i'm on my own in a race, I like to look at scenery and billboards when I can

3) Do you race with specific real race car driver's cars or a fictional driver often? (for example you only race with Jeff Gordon's cars). If so, would you like UI that is personalized specifically to that driver's sponsor and car number?

I usually look at what cars are in the mod when i first get it, so my main driver I use is Jimmie Johnson, but I get my cars painted, so when I get a scheme of my own its usually #23 Coca-Cola scheme, but yes, it would make the car look much nicer

4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?

I would like Red or Blue

5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?

Yes, they have some interesting layouts for sure

6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates
would be provided so you could design your own layout)

To be honest, its not all that important to me, so im happy with what you make, so I wouldn't need the templates, mind you though, it would be a bit of fun making my own stuff, but its not necessary to me at this point in time

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)

Yes it would interest me

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?

Yes, I use replays a lot now to capture some good racing and crashes, so getting it redesigned will make it more enjoyable for me

Yes I would use or learn how to use it since your enhancements are worth while

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?

Not important, id be happy to make room for some enhancements if I didnt have enough room

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?

Very much so, that would be AWESOME!

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?

To me, it's very important having everyone help make it noticed, because with out that I would have never seen the 2012 enhancements and I would not have completed this questionnaire since it wouldn't have existed to me

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)

Nope, just keep working at it, I love everything you have created so far and im not planning on changing my mind anytime soon, and just thank you for making the designs

Section 1 - common questions

1) Do you race with any UI in NR2003 like the f-keys, gauges, and speed indicator turned on? (if you answer no please skip down past section #4)
Yes
2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?
Offline. Don't have the time or patience to run online
3) If you race with the f-keys which key is the most important / the one you have on the most? and why? (below is listed the different f-keys that can be open)
F2 because I always want to know where everyone is relative to me
F1 Key = Car position, lap times, laps to go, weather, etc
F2 Key = Current race standings
F3 Key = Fuel information
F4 Key = Tire Temperatures
F5 Key = Tire wear
F6 Key = Wedge adjustments
F7 Key = Track Bar
F8 Key = Grill Tape
F9 Key = Pit options

4) Do you use the speed indicator when racing? why or why not? (note: when this is turned on flag indicators appear while racing as well)
Yes for a number of reasons. I like to see how fast I'm going, I want to make sure I hit the pits at a good speed, can use speeds as a reference point into corners, etc.
5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?
Yes so I'm aware of my temps and fuel pressure
6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)
Close chase for the most part because its more navigable. If I do serious races I use the cockpit cam because its more realistic.
7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)
Always on
8) How often do you use the replay mode in NR2003?
Frequently
9) Do you like to personalize your NR2003 main menu with custom mainbacks? why or why not?
I like to but I don't because I'm too lazy :p
10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?
I've always had a yen for customizing them with the TV broadcasting networks of the respective series/year I'm running. Otherwise I don't really have a preference
11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?
Yes, I run both real and fictional series for myself
12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)
1680x1050

Section 2 - content questions

1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?
Yes and yes. I change my layouts frequently.
2) Do you want your racing layout to be more flashy ? (like with sponsors and more design) or more bare with only the essentials needed when racing?
Like I said I like racing with like TV graphics. So if it makes it more like how TV graphics are of now and the past then I'd be down.
3) Do you race with specific real race car driver's cars or a fictional driver often? (for example you only race with Jeff Gordon's cars). If so, would you like UI that is personalized specifically to that driver's sponsor and car number?
I race WITH real cars, not as them. If there would be a way to figure that out, though, that'd be sweet.
4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?
I don't really have a preference.
5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?
In a heartbeat.
6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates
would be provided so you could design your own layout)
That would be great actually, I'd pick them up
7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)
Not really, no. I think the menu's fine as is
8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?
Yes, I use replays a lot

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?
No, not smart enough XD
2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)
Absoluetly
3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?
I've got plenty
4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?
Of course
5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?
With the community of this ancient game dwindling, it would be wonderful to see the competency of the entire community working together to make this product. (y)

1) Do you race with any UI in NR2003 like the f-keys, gauges, and speed indicator turned on? (if you answer no please skip down past section #4)

Sometimes

2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?

Offline because I don't trust people to race cleanly online since I've experienced that some people don't race cleanly in the real world either.

3) If you race with the f-keys which key is the most important / the one you have on the most? and why? (below is listed the different f-keys that can be open)

I usually run with the F2 key and then press the spacebar to change to the active menu to see where the other cars are and how their speed is in certain areas of the track compared to me and then use F1 at the beginning and end of a run to see dropoff. Then obviously the various adjustment keys to fix the car for pit stops. I don't really use the tire temp key unless the car has gotten really tight I check to see if the right front has been overheated then I back it down to get the handling back.

F1 Key = Car position, lap times, laps to go, weather, etc
F2 Key = Current race standings
F3 Key = Fuel information
F4 Key = Tire Temperatures
F5 Key = Tire wear
F6 Key = Wedge adjustments
F7 Key = Track Bar
F8 Key = Grill Tape
F9 Key = Pit options

4) Do you use the speed indicator when racing? why or why not? (note: when this is turned on flag indicators appear while racing as well)

No because I don't care how fast I'm going and I know when there is a caution or not by either the spotter or the caution lights on the track.

5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?

No because most of it is useless to look at unless I'm overheating.

6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)

I usually race with the roof or cockpit cameras because the other ones just don't give that feel of if the car behind is actually inside or outside and if I'm clear to move over. I just think they make the game more like an arcade racer instead of simulation. Sometimes I do use the bumper cam at like Bristol or Martinsville for fun but that is rare.

Bumper cam
Roof Cam
Cockpit
Close Chase
Far chase
other (using a program like cam hack to make your own view, please explain that view you race in then)

7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)

Off unless I'm in the cockpit view. I trust the spotter in NR2003 and my instincts to know when I'm clear/not clear.

8) How often do you use the replay mode in NR2003?

Occasionally when I need a break during a caution I see what it was for or if there was a big one at a plate track I just see the carnage and if anyone drove through it.

9) Do you like to personalize your NR2003 main menu with custom mainbacks? why or why not?

Not really, the ones that come with most mods are fine with me and I don't look at them long enough to really want to change them.

10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?

I think its fine but would be open to seeing something different however I would still like the option to keep the original layout if I don't care for a new one.

11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?

I run the standard NASCAR season every year. I'll do a race every week or so but I use the real cars and drivers. Sometimes I'll run a quick race with a fictional teammate because it gets lonely being a one car team lol.

12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)

1280x800 main monitor. Other monitor is also 1280x800. Hopefully soon I'll get a trip setup going.

1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?

I do have an old update from somewhere around the community not sure where but it changed the look and placement of the menus and I'm very satisfied with it. I tried to go back to the original layout and it just wasn't as good.

2) Do you want your racing layout to be more flashy ? (like with sponsors and more design) or more bare with only the essentials needed when racing?

It doesn't really matter to me honestly. As long as I can still see and read what I need to.

3) Do you race with specific real race car driver's cars or a fictional driver often? (for example you only race with Jeff Gordon's cars). If so, would you like UI that is personalized specifically to that driver's sponsor and car number?

I race with the real drivers and their cars and I think it would be awesome to have UI specifically to the driver.

4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?

Well as with my own racecar you can't go wrong with red/yellow/black/white combination.
http://4fourgraphics.com/projects/zumwalt2013/zumwalt_proof1.jpg

5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?

Maybe but I would only use Fox or SPEED.

6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates
would be provided so you could design your own layout)

It doesn't matter for me really. If thats what the rest of the community wants do it. I might try to do something when I need something to do but I'd probably be fine with what comes standard.

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)

I'm not sure. I'm used to where all the buttons are now so I can't really say if I would like it not. It would take some getting used to if they were moved.

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?

Possibly. I always feel as though it could be better when I look at it.

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?

I did once to get the roof cam to be in the correct location where you can see part of the roof and not just the hood and so it is also slightly to the right hand side and not in the middle.

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)

Possibly.

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?

Not important at all. I have a lot of space so I download things that look like they're worth it.

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?

I'm not sure. I can't always keep up to date on everything and check in weekly to see new features but I'm sure the rest of the community would like it.

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?

I think it is important to get viewpoints from the community that developers might not have thought of.

It be awesome so I could customize nr2003 to my liking :D

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)
:-/ idk maybe not

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?
(y)(y)(y)

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?
I use CCM when using replays, but not during racing

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)
I would probably adjust it if I knew how to XD

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?
:google_it_noob: I got Windows 7... :p:p:p

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?
Yes, only if it looks interesting :D

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?
Idk, how to answer it :-/

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)

Here are 2 things:
1. LIVE ScoreboardScrolling Ticker on top (if nr2003 handles it)
2. LIVE Scoreboard Ticker with Top 5

Hope this helps! :D I know this is gonna be epix (y)(y)(y)

Section 1 - common questions

1) Do you race with any UI in NR2003 like the f-keys, gauges, and speed indicator turned on? (if you answer no please skip down past section #4)

I prefer to have my f-keys, gauges and speed indicator on.

2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?

Both. I love racing in past seasons offline, but also like the company of driving with other racers online, too.

3) If you race with the f-keys which key is the most important / the one you have on the most? and why? (below is listed the different f-keys that can be open)

F1 Key = Car position, lap times, laps to go, weather, etc
F2 Key = Current race standings
F3 Key = Fuel information
F4 Key = Tire Temperatures
F5 Key = Tire wear
F6 Key = Wedge adjustments
F7 Key = Track Bar
F8 Key = Grill Tape
F9 Key = Pit options

I use F2 and F3 at an almost equal amount. F2 I use predominantly offline, F3 online.

4) Do you use the speed indicator when racing? why or why not? (note: when this is turned on flag indicators appear while racing as well)

I prefer to have it on because my wheel no longer registers force feedback, so I use it as a balance reference. That, and I like seeing the flag indication on a HUD.

5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?

Yes. If I'm racing in anything other than cockpit view, I want to make sure my water pressure is alright and that my gear ratio isn't revving from an improper setup.

6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)

Bumper cam
Roof Cam
Cockpit
Close Chase
Far chase
other (using a program like cam hack to make your own view, please explain that view you race in then)

Far Chase is my preference when playing while relaxed, though I also use cockpit.

7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)

On.

8) How often do you use the replay mode in NR2003?

About 10% of the time.

9) Do you like to personalize your NR2003 main menu with custom mainbacks? why or why not?

Not really, I'm usually satisfied with the ones provided with the mods.

10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?

After the amount of time I've had it, I've become used to it. Having the F-Key bar in the bottom right keeps it out of the way and realistically, the only reason I would want a change is if the F2 bar could be made on the top of the screen, have the names and numbers be horizontally displayed and scroll from left to right, which I assume is not possible in NR2003.

11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?

Yes to fictional cars, no to everything else.

12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)

1366x768

Section 2 - content questions

1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?

No, but that's because I recently reinstalled NR2003 after having issues with the game. I think that both were well made though.

2) Do you want your racing layout to be more flashy ? (like with sponsors and more design) or more bare with only the essentials needed when racing?

Bare, as I prefer it not to be too distracting.

3) Do you race with specific real race car driver's cars or a fictional driver often? (for example you only race with Jeff Gordon's cars). If so, would you like UI that is personalized specifically to that driver's sponsor and car number?

Yes to both. Whenever I use a real scheme, it's typically Mark Martin's cars that I use.

4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?

Midnight Blue.

5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?

Possibly.

6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates
would be provided so you could design your own layout)

I would probably be more willing to use a custom UI if I could have the PSDs to tweak it with.

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)

Yes. I've attempted doing this myself by modifying the layout files and would like to see what other people can accomplish with it.

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?

Depends, I'm happy with the way it is.

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?

No, I never use cam hack for anything other than trying to see an offline replay wreck from a better view.

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)

As long as it's stable, I'm okay with it. My main problem with cam hack is that it left artifacts (typically car shadows being rendered in completely unrelated places) on my screen which don't normally happen.

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?

While my hard drive is currently limited, I doubt it would be an issue.

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?

I'm not sure I would update my UI that often. It depends on the content.

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?

I would like to see the community as a whole help, but specifically, I'd like to see a proper tutorial for making UI layouts as I currently have only been able to do so via trial-and-error.

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)

I've always wanted to see a way to make external overlays that can be juxtaposed onto NR2003. (For example, say that NR2003 is in it's pace lap. Another program would allow you to have an overlay to choose songs by pressing buttons that aren't used by NR2003 or another program which shows the starting lineup as dictated by a notepad file or something similar)

I've also wished to see a way to make a map for the HUD or a real-time ticker using the same RAM tricks that GNLTV uses to allow people to watch a 2D representation of online NR2003 races live, but I know the only way that would happen is with an external program.

Section 1 - common questions

1) Do you race with any UI in NR2003 like the f-keys, gauges, and speed indicator turned on? (if you answer no please skip down past section #4)

Yes.

2) Do you race in NR2003 offline or online or both? and why?

Both, I use offline when I don't have any league races to do, it kills time and is fun racing against the AI at times.

I use F1 just for those exact reasons. To keep track of my position, lap times and laps to go. Couldn't care less about the weather.
I use F2 mostly for qualifying sessions more than race sessions.
I use F3 to see if I need to lay off the throttle to save a little fuel, and to see how much I have remaining before I make a green-flag pitstop.
I use F5 in the middle of the run, just to keep up with it. Make sure I'm not pushing too hard with the tires.

4) Do you use the speed indicator when racing? why or why not? (note: when this is turned on flag indicators appear while racing as well)

Yeah, especially for green-flag pitstops. I really don't want to get caught speeding.

5) Do you race with the gauges on? (note gauges are always on if in cockpit view) why or why not?

Yeah, even though I don't look at them much. My screen just seems empty without them.

6) Which view do you usually race in with NR2003? and why? (listed below or the various camera choices to race with)

Roof. ESPECIALLY at Super-Speedways.

7) Do you race with the mirror on or off? (not counting cockpit view)

Yes, of course. I have a bad habit of looking in my rear view mirror constantly.

8) How often do you use the replay mode in NR2003?

Every time I use NR2003. XD

9) Do you like to personalize your NR2003 main menu with custom mainbacks? why or why not?

I usually don't.

10) Do you like the standard NR2003 f-key box layout or would you prefer something very different?

I like it, but I'm definitely not ruling out the possibility of not changing it.

11) Do you like simulating offline seasons in the community, creating fictional drivers/cars, and/or running your own fictional offline series with AI?

No, I personally hate offline leagues. The only good ones are the one that are done here. All the other ones are basically the same, and they're basically cluttering up all the NR2003 videos on Youtube. It's getting old.

12) What resolution do you race in for NR2003? (for example 1920x1080 resolution which would be 16:9 aspect ratio)

16:9

Section 2 - content questions

1) Do you have UI Enhancements 2012 content installed in your NR2003 game (or similar ones like roguetoad's UI Updates)? Is that content satisfactory?

No, I do not.

2) Do you want your racing layout to be more flashy ? (like with sponsors and more design) or more bare with only the essentials needed when racing?

It doesn't matter to me, honestly. As long as it works, I'll be fine.

3) Do you race with specific real race car driver's cars or a fictional driver often? (for example you only race with Jeff Gordon's cars). If so, would you like UI that is personalized specifically to that driver's sponsor and car number?

I race with Jimmie Johnson during offline races, and that honestly would be pretty cool, to be honest.

4) What is your favorite color / a color you'd like to see for a racing layout?

Blue. I love blue.

5) Hypothetically speaking if there was a Fox Sports / TNT / broadcast channel themed racing UI layout would you use it?

Fox.

6) How important would customization of UI layouts be to you? (An example: PSD templates
would be provided so you could design your own layout)

It doesn't matter to me, honestly.

7) If the main menu was re-designed would this interest you? (as in the menu options were moved around)

It would seem pretty interesting.

8) If the replay viewer was re-designed would this interest you?

Yeah, that'd be really cool.

Section 3 - user end questions

1) Do you use any NR2003 programs like cam hack to alter your racing views while racing?

No. I use CCM when I record clips for videos I make.

2) If a specific racing layout required the use of an external program (like cam hack to look/work properly) would you use it / learn how to use it? (for example the mirror for the car (not the mirror in cockpit view) would need to be adjusted so it does not overlap with some UI elements)

Eh, it depends really.

3) Approximately how important is file size in terms of content to you? Do you have a lot of hard drive space or very little?

File size has never been a big issue for me, and probably never will be. Regardless of how much or how little hard drive space I have.

4) If you have plenty of space on your pc for NR2003 mods and liked the UI layouts that were released would you enjoy weekly / bi-weekly UI content released?

Ehhhhhhhhhh.

5) How important is having the community as a whole help make/shape new UI content after UI Enhancements 2013 has been released? or would you rather have AD Racing Designs be the official place to get updates on future UI layouts?

It doesn't matter. Honestly, either way, it'd keep the game and the community alive. That's all that matters in the long run.

Section 4 - additional info

1) Is there anything you feel like mentioning towards the way you like racing in NR2003 / UI layouts you'd might like to see? (within the limitations that NR2003 can do)

Maybe more use translucent gray to invisible gradients, an way to edit the F-Keys and maybe the Main Menu with the single race, multiplayer, testing ETC in an arc on one side on the player info, Replaty, etc on the other, like almost a HUD Display thing.
