I might make the numbers bigger on the #31. Otherwise, nice paints.

You want to tilt the numbers to match the car and you have some line up issues on the hood and the splitter of the 31.

See the problem with that is i don't use photoshop or paintshop pro. I use Paint.Net. There is not a skew feature or a tilt feature so that is not possible for me.

Will Paint.net let you rotate your #'s as you add them? If so, that works better than skewing them on the NNS body, and the recommended amount of rotation is shown on the temp. Great work on the cars, BTW.

I don't know how people can manage creating schemes without Photoshop...I just can't fathom it.

That being said...the schemes are OK...but there are lots of small issues in both of your actual Nationwide schemes.

Can you explain?

Take your Edwards car for example.

-Missing upper section of paint scheme
-Wrong set of contingencies
-Miscolored camera
-No B-pillar logos
-No side skirts
-No driver signature
-No driver panel or quarter panel sponsors

That's just what I see after looking at this image:

http://www.roushcleantech.com/sites/default/files/images/16.4.1.14.jpg

That, and it looks like for some reason the spoiler layer was moved over on top of the splitter.

If you want to be on any paint crew...you should make it a habit to make your schemes as close to their real life counterparts as possible.

Tyce, I use Paint.Net as well, and my advice is for you to try studying all the contents of the program, including Add-Ons available for DL on the PDN Forums. Those Add-Ons helped me a lot, but try looking at all the contents and all the ones that you will be using to make those cars. Believe me, it works like a boss if you pay attention to everything.

Also, Tyce, whenever you need help with PDN, you can talk to me about it and I will do my best to help you out.

Finally. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I used to use Photoshop when I first got into painting. It sucked... I now use PDN (Paint.Net) and find it perfect for everything.

Anyway, as for rotating numbers, go look at what (whoever made the temps post) said about how much rotation they give the numbers. I believe its 2.00 in PDN. Just open the number as another image, rotate it, copy, and paste it. It sounds like a lot, but you can get faster and faster. Then of course, it gets easier and easier.

lol he said Without photoshop. And i have to agree with Chev on this one. I've been using photoshop this whole time it is so helpful once you get the hang of it. I've had short experiences with both PDN and gimp and I would out gimp ahaed of PDN as well. PDN seems to be good for people starting out, as there aren't as many features, but if you have the opportunity, get photoshop, or even gimp, they have more features to help make your paints epic. And there are plenty of tutorials for photoshop.

And this is why I hate reading...

Gimp is just too confusing to me, considering I have been using PDN for so long. As for Photoshop, I just don't like it. I also didn't learn it 100% when I used it though. Oh well, people have different preferences. I just thought for once I wasn't on an island all by myself... XD

Ok i see what you mean. I just overlooked a lot of stuff.

The only reason I can see for this is that you hurried your work. There is no real valid reason for that. Besides, it will always be easier to spend the time doing it right the 1st time, than having to re-do it.

In my opinion, GIMP is not really tough to deal with after you learn it, I make some bases on it from time to time. But, if you're fine with any painting program (in other works, whatever is the program that works for you) just stick with it, I paint for a bit more than a year and i never left PDN... reason? I learned how to deal with it, takes time but the result at the end is amazing, trust me.

My point is, you can create nice stuff, such as logos, numbers and cars with programs other than Photoshop. Sometimes I don't like when people say that Photoshop is the only program to create good cars, but I respect their opinion since everyone have theirs. I have done Photoshop before, I know some of the basics of it, but it's still very confusing for me, so I sticked with the one program that made me feel comfortable, and I think that's what everyone should do.

If you're fine with Photoshop, stick with Photoshop; if you're fine with GIMP, stick with GIMP; if you're fine with Paint.Net, stick with Paint.Net... now, it's not cool to say that is only possible to make cars in the program you use, because this is a total lie. If it was only possible to paint with Photoshop, people who don't have money to buy it (Like me, for an example) would never try to paint a car ever in their lives.

I agree. GIMP is really good. I use it myself. You just have to learn your basics first.

I have fixed the edwards car. Can you spot out any other flaws with the other ones?

The roof cam on all and the front splitter on some havn't been touched. And changing those two things are the easiest to change too. I use PDN aswell so i've done this alot. All you need to do is just select that layer and go to hue/saturation under adjucements and set the saturation to 0(far left) and darkness/lightness to either black(far left) or white(far right) depending on if it actually was black or white/colored. And if it needs to be colored just go to effects--->color--->color filter and find the color that you need. If its a dark color then obviously go back to hue/saturation and get it to match.

Ofcourse with real cars you can't just leave half the layers untouched. Details, details, details are very important if you want to do it right.
