I raced Bristol today. The car was great in practice. Qualified second. The thing was stuck to the track pretty well. Started my race and the car ran well. I was running fourth and the car was perfect.
After the first caution I changed tires and the car got loose exiting the corner. Rode that out about 70 laps or so and another caution. Put wedge in it and it was better into the corner and the middle then it was tight, tight, tight, LOOSE! Just like DW talks about. I didn't really know what to do to fix it so I left the tires the same for the last pit stop. I restarted the race and there was no traction anywhere. I couldn't hook up in the corner or on the straightaway. After a lap and a half of this the car bumped the wall with the front fender and the car tightened right up. Ran pretty good lap times. Hit the gas in the middle of the corner and it was great. Unfortunately lapped down traffic held me up and the leaders past me. Finished 1 lap down.
This is the first Bristol race with real weather. Normally I leave it at 70 degrees. Oh well.
