Hey guys. I have a question that I'm sure ya'll can help me with. So I'm racing in my game and we all go to pit road. Some of the ai has good pit stops, but when some of the other ai have their pit stop, they just sit there for another minute or two after the pit stop is completed. Is there anyway I can fix this problem to make all ai have great pitstops?

Thanks

Probably should be in the "NR2003 General Discussion" Forum...

Sounds like you have an mixed bag of driver ratings with regards to pitting. Maybe the track has a bad pit lane, poorly laid out pit boxes, incorrect pit stall designations in the .ini. Hard to diagnose unless you tell us which track it is.

This happens to me too occasionally. Its usually just on the revamped reloaded tracks. Every now and then when the cars are pitting, 1 0r 2 just sit in the pit stall for a while. They don't even have damage. Sometimes its cars running up front in the race.

Try increasing the driver ratings for Pit Stops. Unfortunately, you'll have to do each driver one by one, but hopefully that should fix your problem.

You can bulk modify them us NRratings.

This does happen very occassionally with the base tracks, but is more of a problem with some other tracks. It is actually an error in the track, which means that if the ai get their pit entry slightly wrong, then they don't get into the pitstall correctly.

IIRC, they wait for several minutes and then get their fuel and tires, and this means that while it looks like they were in their pit, they actually weren't positioned correctly and had to call a tow truck. You will probably find that it also only happens for certain pit stalls and not others.

It is a very annoying problem, but it might be able to be fixed with new pit.lp's or changes to the ini settings. There is a pit stanza, and it might also need a change to the ai_slip_inverse_k line as well, to control how sharply they can turn in without losing grip.

Cheers

Sometimes it's as simple as the width of the pit stall is just too narrow and you have to be perfectly inside of your stall in order to get service. The only way to fix that is to open the track in Sandbox and widen the stall slightly.
