Danica Patrick might be moving to the 88 nationwide chevy or JR motorsports do you think she should or not

She should try to do well in what she currently drives before making a jump

I'm glad I'm not the only one that voted no. Sam Hornish won three IRL titles and look at how long it's taking him to adapt to Nascar. Danica has won one IRL race on fuel strategy, I really don't think she'll make it in a stock car.

She can do what ever she wants. She's got the money to do it so, why not. Do I think she will do good? No, not at all. I think she will utterly fail, and crunch up some cars. I just don't like cocky people that can't back it up. She'll do terrible, and blame it all on her cars and crap like that.

No one can predict how well she will do in stock car. I'm sure she will have difficult time adapting herself in whole different vehicle - at least she isn't going into Cup level quickly like Dario, Sam Hornish Jr., and etc...

Well, she really has no choice but to go to the busch series. She wanted a "good ride" and none of the "good rides" are open in the Cup series. That's what ticks me off. She thinks that she's too good for a bad ride, but there are so much better drivers then her that never get a chance to be in a "good ride." Just look at Scott Wimmer and Mike Bliss. Wimmer deserves to be in that 5 full time let along Patrick's 12 races.

That's true. She should use ARCA as a stepping stone.

She is ;)

As far as my opinion on this, my take is "What the hell is the big deal". She is a racecar driver, I'd rather see her come to NASCAR and fail then see her stay in the IRL because she is scared to attempt to learn another type of car.

When it comes down to Motorsports their are two types of "players". Drivers & Racers.
Racers are the "players" that are not only willing, but wanting to participate in many types of racing. And they do.
Drivers are the "players" who just focus on one type of racing, yeah they may play around here and there in other forms, but they either don't have the guts or the knowledge to be "Racers".

Right now Danica is just a Driver, but she wants to be a racer and I say more power too her.

well, whether she succeeds or fails...time will tell. I agree she has not set the track on fire in IRL
BUT, in today's world, the reality is she is a sponsors dream..so pairing her with JR Motorsports
they would sign her in a heartbeat to get needed sponsor dollars to help elevate the team's stability. Imagine the upcoming commercials featuring Jr and Danica?? these days, teams do what sponsors want, and it is about $$$ not talent or performance.
no offense to anyone, but Jr himself is not exactly a ball of fire either? and he can pretty much pick where he likes or wants to go for the same reason.

And here is something to think about too. How many drivers over the years have raced in one series and went to another series and for lack of a better term "Failed". Sometimes a driver is good then moves and "fails", sometimes a driver "fails" moves then is good.

Who is to say that she just isn't cut out for Open-wheel racing, yet she may end up being another Richard Petty, aka the best driver ever in the history of NASCAR. Yeah the chances are slim, but the chances are there.

I said on this fourm along time ago that if she came to nascar she would be with JR motorsports. (I think this when the rumors started that she would move to nascar, before she resigned with AGR).

The reason was sponsorship aka GoDaddy.com.

06-16-2009

If it happens, don't be suprised where she would go if she brings a sponsor with her.

Godaddy.com for one.

Junior Motorsports 2 car team, with Keselowski.

It would be the same deal Stewart Haas has with Hendrick.

Wait... that's not fact. I have read an article a while ago that she do not want to jump straight to Cup - she wanted to get her feet wet before she going to Cup. She knows that she need to go longer way before she can join Cup level. I have never heard that she wanted Cup level ride right away.

Still, his point remains...Patrick would only get the 5 ride for marketing novelty...

Wimmer has shown that he can still drive the wheels off of a car in the races he's been in the 5 this season, and deserves a full-time ride. Mike Bliss is also more deserving, as well as Danny O'Quinn Jr., Scott Lagasse Jr., Tony Raines, Brandon Whitt, Matt Carter, Stephen Leicht, and many many more. All have done well in sub-par equipment, and could do worlds better in a top notch ride...

She does not deserve at top notch ride, right out of the gate, when she has proven less than nothing...in my mind, she should start where all development drivers start...East or West...then move up to N'Wide/Trucks...then Cup, if she can get that far...

If she really wants to try her hand at NASCAR, she needs to learn to humble herself, fast, and learn...Hendrick is already getting rid of its resident egotistic, wench of a prima donna when BKez leaves for Penske, full-time.....but it looks like they found a replacement for him.

If she signs, there will be a lot of wrecked race cars in the Hendrick stable...and, God forbid, Hendrick eventually puts her in the 5, when Mark retires, with that dumb GoDaddy.com sponsorship...

...I will be washing my hands of the Hendrick organization, except for Jeff Gordon...

Uhh, Stephen Leicht does have a top notch ride, but i agree with the rest of that post.
