Hey guys, hokiegrad here. Just wondering if anyone here is working on some 2048 temps for the BRGen6 mod. Your stuff is always so superior to what initially comes out. I have been purposely delaying painting some stuff waiting to see what you guys release.

    I wouldn't delay your painting.

We haven't even started templates yet. Not sure if were going to make them. The ones released seem to be pretty damn good if you ask me.

The temps are great, but they are 1024. I really appreciate the extra resolution I get in my game when the cars are painted on a 2048 temp.

For now just upscale the current ones (if you can).

That will make everything look blurry as hell... What we need is real 2048 templates.

I love SRD's 2048 temps. They have accurate shading, decals and other goodies on their templates. Not hating on BR's default templates, but they sorta lack... If I could make my own templates, I would but i hope the SRD crew makes some templates. I would be very grateful for the effort put into the templates, if they planned on making any

Yeah but if one would upscale their template that would allow one to at least paint their car in 2048 and save the paint scheme minus the whole template. Then when real 2048 templates come out all they would have to do is copy and paste the paint schemes onto the new templates. That way they wouldn't have to delay the painting of their cars.

The 1024 paints if saved and imported right look every bit as good ingame as 2048's. This is a screenshot of a 1024 car ingame. All the contigs and logos are crisp and readable.

So what's the secret to making the 2048 temps look that good?

In your player.ini change the values I have highlighted to zero.

Also, if you use PSP you have an option when when saving your psd as a tga.

I knew about the "save textures=0"
I didn't know about the "import textures=0" I will definitely try that.
I always save my tga's as 32 bit, but I will have to double check to see if the default is compressed or uncompressed.

Thanks for the tips. I can't wait to get home from work today to try it out and see if I can tell a difference!!
Car files are probably going to be huge though.

This is why I really never bother with 2048 and have no plans of ever going to 2048 any time soon. 1024 is quite manageable and offers great quality in-game when done right.

I say more power to the painters that want 2048 but for me I will probably stick with 1024 temps for all time and eternity unless some major reason I have to switch.

The problem with the Bullring tempaltes is athat a lot of decals are VERY blurry. Therefore new templates would really be appreciated.

A normal rescale wasn't even on my mind, not anymore. I meant a proper rescale by converting them to eps/ai files.

Does someone know something about a Pontiac template for Gen6 mod?
Specially similar to 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix model :)
