It should block pop ups but not all ads. Have you tried an ad blocker? What browser and pop up blocker are you using?

Matt, perhaps I should not have used the word pop-up. I did accidently click on one of your adds and downloaded a virus. Fortunately my virus program caught it.

My ad's don't have virus's. If they did, google would be out of business.

So please stop saying you downloaded a virus from here, because it's just not true.

I'm no IT expert but most of the ads you see on here are developed by your own tracking cookies, not by the site or it's owner.

I've been invaded by Best Surf numerous times. A quick delete of their implanted file takes care of it

If you are getting strange ads on a site like this might I suggest using a program called "Super anti-spyware"

It's free and easy to install. I've used this thing for years. It will find and destroy any unwanted viruses like the one you mentioned. I almost guarantee if you get rid of the virus on your computer you'll see it was never a SRD ad to begin with but just some malicious software on your own pc causing the issue.

Thanks for the heads up on the mal ware stuff. I will do some research, and do some upgrading.

Sorry, Matt, I did not mean to accuse you of malishes activities, I just wanted to point out that I had a problem, and maybe others did also. And also, that someone may have a solution. And, it seems like I have recieved some good leads that should end my problems.

No, you wanted to say you got a virus from a pop-up ad from this site. That's a lie. We don't have viruses, or pop-up ads.

Do not come in here and attack us under completely false pretenses.

IP filtering and Host Manager - YouTube

I made tutorial on how to use your PC's host file to filter web content. I dont get ad's from anywhere ever. Cookies or not. This file and its use can keep any site from sending out data to it's servers. The call never leaves the nic card it stays internally routed. Give it a whirl. It's simple and basic. But it's a cheap as in free way to secure your browser and ensure you are only getting the sites content and not a thing else.

Watch the tutorial. Use the program.

It was a mysterious adventure, downloading and installing Super antispyware. First, from which seemed to be the proper website, I got a prompt to download a trial version, and then pay some (I paid no attention to the amount as I just backed out and looked for a site that offered a free download......as described to me). Finding one on my next attempt, I was able to install and run the exec. Well, it found a number of problems (incidentally, the same problems that Norton Anti Virus finds). Clicked on fix, and was asked if I would like the professional version for (I don't remember how much, I didn't think that I needed that, as what was presented to me was to be free) and so I replied no.

Next t thing I know, despite the fact that I asked for a custom download, and did not ask for any other apps, I found several other Icons o my desk top, and a new homepage on line.

Went to add/delete programs, and deleted all new items, except Super antispyware, .was prompted to restart. Did so and got an MSDOS notation, "NTLPR is missing" .

Can't log on.:-/

This is the site: SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!

I've used the free edition for years without issue.

I'll never forget that one time someone posted a thread in the support forum asking why they were getting adult ads on the site.... :p

Whoo, what the h___. What gave anybody the idea that I came in here to attack anyone. The hack world out there has become much more sophisticated than this old retired software developer. (BTW, I 73 years old, retired Senior Engineer who worked in design automation for most of my 36 years in industry.) I made my post out of concern for the owners and the users of this web site. I, and apparently others have gotten malicious downloads while at this site. I now understand more how this can happen than I did when I first made the post, and know that it was not created by the web site itself, but we must now be aware that this kind of malicious stuff hangs out in the ad space that is on the web site.

Enough said. I am not a liar.
