Oh no please not, I am not a fan of boring one groove racing and "Bum and Runs". The side by side racing at Bristol is great.

I normally like side by side racing. That crap we saw yesterday was just not being able to pass. I would rather them nudge one another to pass. Then see them ride side by side for 50 laps and wait for a lap car to screw it up.

This'll be the first good business move Bruton's made in a LONG time if it gets through.

Yes. Time to listen to the fans. I know most of them want old Bristol back. Same thing happened with plate racing and the two car draft. Except this took them 5 years to figure out "New Bristol" just kinda sucks.

This disappoints me extremely. what we saw yesterday was the definition of good green flag racing. there was passing, although drivers had to work at it to get it. Frankly, as someone said at the chatbox, the old bristol was just everyone riding in a line until Earnhardt punted someone out of the way. Also, I can't really see how anyone could argue there was less passing yesterday than at the old bristol. It's disappointing that all so many fans care about are bumps and wrecks.

Plus, we all know Bruton's logic:
MOAR FANS = MOAR MONEH!

The possibility of this happening actually passed through my mind a few times this weekend. Its definitly logistical to do with Bristol thats for sure. The racing saturday was meh and sunday was much better but still it wasn't that great. I say go for it.

Crazy idea...

How about they leave it progressive banked but have the top half the track banked the same amounts of degrees as it is now but just less than the bottom. Its like 2 degrees more than the bottom is now I think so just make it 2 less than the bottom. I wonder what that would be like.

To quote myself from the thread at RuRa

Let's fix something that's not broken.

If the tracks goes back to how it used to be I will go back. However as much as I hate the new Bristol it did work out great for that 1st Nationwide race in 2007. That was a epic race. I dont want to see wrecks thats not what its about. I want to see emotions and bumping and banging if a wreck happens oh well. They market the track like theres bumping, crashing, and fighting. Thats really pisses me off because thats just not how it is anymore. Bristol is a short track and it should be raced like one which is very phyiscal and hard nosed.

I'm glad to hear this, hopefully it won't take them too long to do it if they do.

I just want a Bristol where the high line isn't clearly overpowered compared to the bottom. Save that crap for Atlanta, Texas, and other tracks like them. Heck, it almost took an act of Congress just to make a pass on the bottom yesterday.

You don't have to have a wreckfest for excitement, but we don't need short tracks turning into 1.5-milers-in-a-can either.

I don't really care what they do, Kyle Busch rules on both versions... :D

Seriously, this is kinda cool. Back to the old style, I like it.

It's time for old Bristol to return. It's not about the wrecks, it's about classic short track racing, which is slowly dying with progressive Bristol and the closing of several short tracks across the country.

Everyone watch this video. Count the number of passes that aren't lapped traffic or someone getting freight trained on the outside. Do you really want to go back to that?

In honesty...yeah. That is what short track racing is about, fighting for that one great line around the racetrack and using every inch of your car to obtain it. THAT is what made NASCAR great, and it seems to be slowly dying. :/

Well the fans seemed to like it better look at that crowd. The past few crowds make the track look bad.
