problem importing tires.

I have tried every way I can think of to get the default NR2003 cup tires and wheels to work on the ss.net cot mod and nothing works! No matter what i do, I still see the ss.net tires that came with the mod. I have used winmip2 to unpack the COT .dat file and deleted the tire & wheel mips, but when I try to "re-pack" the .dat file....I get an error message saying ...."Error in Wmbas/Packen". It is NOT as simple as just extracting new tire files to the COT folder....been there....done that. I'm not trying to reproduce anybody's work here...I just like the look of the old Winston Cup tires better. I only race offline.
Has ANYone changed the tires in the Superspeedway.net COT mod? I dig the mod...but the tires aren't accurate...imo.

I just unzip all three wheels file in the ss cot folder no problem

One thing to note, that the 3d model is a scratch built tire that came with the SS.net mod. So the painting of the object still rely on the template.

So, if I change the tires on the template it will show up in the game? The only problem with that is, it will only be reflected on my car and I want to change the look of all the cars' tires. Minor detail....I know....but it drives me crazy!!!!

You can only paint the rim on the template. Just forget it, the wheels are different models that ss.net build specifcally, so you can't use any other wheels. Just ignore it.
