Question about Bots Online

Is there some sort of fix I can get to increase the amount of bots my friend can see in an Online race? I can see all the cars, but he can only see the nearest 12 or so cars. I let him host and I ended up having the same problem.

I haven't found a fix anywhere, so my hopes aren't very high lol.

Well, he needs to increase the number of cars drawn to match yours then. Its that easy.

I don't think that's the problem. We have the same settings and all of that because I basically set up the game for him because of all the addons and mods and stuff I gave him to install. We are both on max graphics, draw distances .. everything.

I said earlier he can see all the cars on a Singleplayer race, just not Online when I'm hosting. It just seems only the host can see all the bot cars.

Any other possibilities? Or is online made that way with bots?

Usually the full field. Between 30-39.

Would that be a server side option or a Graphics option?

Graphics side we both have all the details and distance maxed. Like, everything is even tweaked for maximum graphics.

We have the same Rosters and Mods. We had the problem even when we first got Nascar 2003 and knew nothing about the mods and community tweaks and addons.

I'm just wondering if Online Racing just does not allow other players to view more than 12 or so bots at a time. Have any of you raced with someone else online with a full bot field? That would pretty much sum up if the problem is on our side or not.

No i dont think thats it a generic car would just show up

Yeah, when he's racing he just sees the 12 or so nearest cars to him, and it changes as he moves through out the field. It sucks for him especially on the superspeedways when the "Big one" happens and all the smoke and cars show up in his face suddenly with no warning.

Yeah see that sounds like the cars visible option in NR2003 but you said the graphics on both yours and his are maxed out is what i dont get....that is strange???

I've had the same problems with my computers ( LAN ) it didn't matter which machine hosted till I tried this...
In the core.ini file search for this function:

net_use_mdm_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip=1 ; Use modem bandwidthfor TCP/IP

and set it to:

net_use_mdm_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip=0 ; Use modem bandwidthfor TCP/IP

That helps if people join your server and see only a few cars instead of all

in the CORE.INI file under [Communications]change this line to look like this:

net_use_mdm_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip=0

you currently probably have a"1" there

save changes and exit
