Several people have been asking this since Daytona. I know numerous people have tried with no luck. There was a thread a little while back in which a couple people were experimenting with different .ini settings to try and achieve this but from what I remember, I dont think they quite got there.

All in all, it might be possible to do a little pushing here and there but I dont think anyone is going to be able to find a way to push for 10 laps straight. Not only that, but I dont think the games engine (no pun intended) is really set up to simulate the effects of what makes it work in real life.

one guy did it with Daytona, do I'm pretty sure its possible with dega too.

From what I understand, it works online, but very poorly.

it's.. kind of possible. putting the drafting distance at 0.00 is interesting. The ai really give each other a huge push, and even though they dont really do the 2 car draft, that push is enough to give the lead car a 4-5 mph boost and the 2nd car sorta follows. (y)
But, the big problem with all this is that the ai don't know that they have to bump squarely. :hammer: They will bump the left rear or the right rear, pushing the front car sideways and eventually everyone wrecks. What i've done to try to get rid of that is increasing the slipcurve_angle, and lowering the track grip. You would think that making the track grip higher would make the ai be able to keep the car straight after that bump, but instead they use the extra grip and get even more sideways. So lowering the grip makes the car more sluggish to turn, and they dont slip sideways.
Even with that I cant go more than 3 laps without a Kurt :2guns: Busch moment, but when i run a 2 lap race its so intense. Ill try to post a video of a kinda successful 'race' with this :gunsmilie:

I've gotten it to work somewhat. But like you said I can't get them to stay hooked up for awhile and they like to clip each others rear bumpers.

Yeah I just dont think it's gonna happen, tried the drafting distance at .99 and they didnt quite slam each other, but there really wasn't any speed gain. So if you want a 2 car draft, its possible to make the race LOOK like it, but its not really gonna RACE like the real thing. Plus there will be wrecks every lap anyway :surrender::gun_bandana:

I would love to see this work. It seems like people either love or hate the two car draft. I love it.

Well I'll keep trying and see what I can do. The part that is the worst is when there's 3 or 4 of them together they start to jitter a bunch and then someone goes low on the apron and comes back up and clips the person and in front of them and the person behind goes flying up the track wrecking.

mine works perfect, but it changes the track from Revamped - using 2010 Dega - they hit about 205 when pared up, about 190 drafting, in a pack they dont wreck themselves, and if two of them actually get together (rare - besides start with 10 car length gap at start) the pack condenses after 2-3 laps then ive actually seen the 2009 style of Jr/newman and Kesolowski/Edwards one pair left pack, then another, then the pack uses the draft to play "catch up" - basically because of the draft in the game they get about 5-10 cars out, then pack runs 215 to catch up.... other then that, i can push cars 20-30 cars away, then we get run over (literally) by the ai catch up technique thus wrecking us all..its not perfect but it is fun.

I race a superspeedway league where they change the core ini to make the lag and side to side warp in the turns minimal. It allows for constant pushing if you know what you're doing. You can't really pull away from the field but on a giant track like Hawgabahn 2 cars up top that are hooked up will fly through the field. It's the most fun you can really have if you're looking for pushing.
I don't like pushing the ai because for one... it's an ai and you have no clue what it's going to do and two.... any sudden movement will spin him.
