No offense to any Robby Gordon fans, but Robby Gordon has always been a crybaby. He's just a big jerk who thinks he can get away with driving a " Nascar " on a freeway, purposely wrecking Marcos Ambrose and thought he won the race even though Nascar penalized him, feuding with Michael Waltrip and other drivers purposely, throwing a helmet at Waltrips own car, copying logos, and complaining at any thing.

Hey! you remembered some that I had forgotten. It's the new forum game sweeping the internets! "Who can list the most Robby Gordon bonehead moves?" lol

Gordon in the #7 through Phoenix: According to a post on his Facebook page, Kevin Conway said, "Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be in the car at Homestead. Robby Gordon will be in it through Phoenix." Cownway was originally listed as the driver of the #7 this weekend, but Gordon will drive.(10-29-2010)

This was the same day as the energy drink was announced. Conway will probably be in the car at Homestead.

You are just so smart! :notworthy:

It was a publicity stunt. He did it where they were doing construction and the highway was closed. He never was ticketed or anything. The cops were there for a reason.

Robby back to Chevy: #7-Robby Gordon says the Chevy-to-Indy move is just perfect for him, and he says he'll be a part of the new Chevy Indy operation. Gordon is preparing to run next spring's Indy 500 with his own team (it will of course have to be with a Honda engine). And Gordon says he expects to make the NASCAR jump next season from Toyota back to Chevrolet. Gordon, who heads back to Mexico in a couple of days to run the Baja 1000, says he's one of five men with a shot to win the 16-hour marathon. But it hasn't been such a great year for Gordon, who last year's off-road championship but who this year has been hit with mechanical issues, most recently with his off-road transmission. Gordon said it was not true that the Specialized bike company was suing him over the 'S' he is using for his new energy drink: "I'm suing Specialized, because I've had that 'S' for years."(MikeMulhern)(11-13-2010)

How can his team improve by switching makes every year or two?

I expected this. Another question is: If Chevy is having so much trouble they have to "fire" the Goodwrench brand and cut down their retail operations, why are they wasting the money to try and get back into Indycar right now? I think the answer lies in the fact that the government is running GM and is made up of east-coasters and elitists that see Indycar as more high-brow than NASCAR. It's going to be incredibly tough for Chevy (or anyone else) to even run equally to Honda in the IRL at this point. Maybe down the raod, once GM had recovered, might have been a better time.

As for Robby, this won't help. Where's he going to get engines? He's screwed up any relationship with Childress, which means he already doesn't have access to the best Chevy engines in NASCAR right now. Hendrick? Rick Hendrick won't stomach Robby's problems with not paying for his equipment. Robby should have stuck with Toyota, at least they're still willing to spend money on him.

Robby Gordon had right front wheel bearing issues before the start of the timed special, costing him about 5 hours. He completed the stage, but because he was late to the special, he is disqualified from the rally. The SPEED Energy HUMMER of Eliseo Salazar is still competing in 81st overall position, as is SPEED DEMON motorcycle rider Quinn Cody who is currently in 13th position.

he can't cut a break.

For once it's not totally his fault.

We'll probably find out the bearing broke because the suspension was not regulation or something. I've written Robby off at this point. His company will fold before the year is out, and he'll disappear. Sad, he could've been great.

Richard Childress said he could have been one of the best drivers in history if he wasn't so stubborn. Maybe he'll go down to Nationwide and work his way up again.

Or go back to IndyCar.

16 Cup races (including the first 5)
Possibly the NNS Road Races (not sure he'd build a NNS-COT, maybe if he could get one off of RCR/KHI/whatever the NNS program is called).
SCORE Full season
Most of the "Best in the Desert" series races (missing the series opener which is today/tomorrow)
Majority of the TORC or Lucas Oil races (not sure which one or if for a Championship, but he'll run most of the races)
The Monster Truck
I know he's showing up at Winter-X, not sure if he's doing anything other then promoting the drink though.
I think he's also working on getting enough of a Rally-Cross program together to get invited to the Summer-X games.

Now if only we could get him in a NASCAR modified for a few races, some sprint/midget races, & road racing (honestly surprised he doesn't do more Grand-Am/ALMS stuff)...

Robby was pretty good in Indy in early/mid 90s, then it went downhill post 1997.

Lesson? Stick to what you know

Robby needs to focus on one thing. That's always been his biggest issue. He can never just pick a division/series to focus on, and it's showed.

Robby won the pole at the 17th SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge.

And he also won the Laughlin Leap this year (for those that don't know it's whoever can jump their vehicle the farthest, you don't have to do it but most of the racers do)

Robby Gordon, my 2 cents.

Even though he's flexibly racing many series, and that's largely thought to be the reason there is an absence of success with Robby Gordon, I think it is a good quality to have as a race car driver. I'm sure he'd like a shelf full of trophies but his experiences are irreplaceable to him. Think about looking back on that later in life, he must be proud of all his accomplishments. And I'm sure he's doing what truly makes him happy, which is certainly commendable.
