Townley cited for underage possession of alcohol: Nationwide Series driver John Wes Townley [#21 Chevy] has been cited for underage possession of alcohol. Townley, who is 20, was cited Thursday. He apologized to NASCAR and his Richard Childress Racing team in a statement issued late in Saturday's race by his race team. "I made a big mistake and feel terrible about it," he said. "I have learned a valuable lesson and will do everything I can to make it up to those I have let down." Car owner Richard Childress said Townley made an error in judgment that will be handled internally at RCR. "Drivers are human and make mistakes like everyone else. However, we do not condone his behavior," Childress said. Townley finished 15th in Saturday's race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.(Associated Press)(2-28-2010)

Wow that is so bad .... not really I dont think there is many of us who havent been caught with Alcohol under age its just because he is nascar driver does it get reported. If he was drunk behind the wheel different story but this was off track come on give the guy a break.

If he was drunk behind the wheel different story but this was off track come on give the guy a break.

That might explain some of the performances he had last year though...........I sense another Shane Hmiel. Talented driver throws it all away before they get everything figured out because they have other priorities.

Nah this happen on Thursday off track. I see it as him and some friends just having some drinks when a cop rolls along and catches them. I dont see a big thing over AJ who got a DUI not that long ago.

Here's my take on the Danica incident:

I really didn't see what McDowell did wrong he came down just a little, but Danica had another half of a lane below him she could have used to pass him...instead she went Danica Insania on McDowell and plowed through him. Her fault not McDowells IMO.
