Well, the painters here make their own bases for their cars, so I thought it would be a good idea to save the base in layered form and post it on this site in addition to the car.
Well, I hate to shoot you in the foot here, but I have to.
While some might see a joy in letting/seeing others use their tools, some may not. I like seeing when people use my base schemes, but that's mainly because I was setting out to do base schemes and only base schemes. Some cars that you do, may be a little too difficult to just post the base in layered form. I still have a laziness nack for just throwing all the design onto one layer then copying it to the other side of the car. While I see what you are getting to, posting a base may not be what some view as what should be posted. Bases can be heavily mis-used in many ways, I'm not going to mention what they are. Along with the abuse part, some people just prefer that they don't post their bases. Personally, I liked posting until I saw most of mine abused in a way that I still snarl at today. So in a sense I guess what I'm trying to say, posting a base is somewhat a different "game" than posting just the car. Although, maybe a lot of the painters on SRD would like to post bases and you just gave alot of people a break for bringing it up.
I hope you don't find my words offensive or anything like that. I'm just trying to give you a couple reasons why some people may say no to posting bases with the car.
If you download any one of the base that I have done you will find the base scheme in one, thta i s done for reason one to make the file size a bit smaller and the main reason is to stop anyone esle from claim the base as there own.
I have just complete a request and wacthed the GLW draw the base by hand over a couple of days
