so if you hit the print screen key it saves a screen shot. where does it go? is it only while racing or can you do it in the replay too?

I think you can do it whenever the game is running at any screen. It goest to your Papyrus/nascar racing 2003 season folder and it's named NR2003ss01.tga

It will save anything that is on the screen, just paste it into GIMP/Paintshop Pro/Paint/Whatever/etc. and you're done.

i found it but if i click it a window pops up and says
its not a valid bitmap file or not currently supported.
any ideas?

Open it in a photo editing program as listed above.

It is saved as a .tga file so yes, you'll need at least "Paint" to open the screen shot.
