It should be no surprise to see the 91 team atop the standings going into this weekend's event. Gamboa has been the model of consistency all season long; and while his stats may not glisten, his 0 DNF's have helped plant him in the cat bird's seat with one race left. Unfortunately, mere consistency is not going to be enough come Monday. Last year's champion needed a top 5 finish to secure the title...and with the points as they are, the 91 team may need even more than that.

A big swing meant a big miss last weekend in Vegas. The Red Bull Toyota went nowhere but backwards last week...he's going to need to invert that performance in Miami if he wants this title. Keeping the 91 and 21 in his rearview on raceday could very well secure him the championship.

Will the real Jeremy Zumwalt please stand up? It seems the driver that won 3 races and posted 8 top 10's has gone out to lunch recently. Several poor performances have seen a 50+ points lead evaporate over the course of a few races. Now, he sits 6 points out, and will need to contend not only with the two drivers in front, but also the several other hungry ones behind.

Walz's late season surge is reminiscent of his charge to make it into the Chase last season. After not being much more than a field filler all season long, Walz has surged at the perfect time and looks poised to contend for the championship. It's going to require another hallmark performance like last weekend in order for this Ford to find victory circle.

A ballsy move by the 55 crew put Brewer in the top 5 with only a handful of laps remaining last week. However, the move came at the cost of the car's handling as the GT Ford was lucky to hold onto 10th at the checkers. Will the 55 team be able to pull a rabbit out of a hat this weekend and win the thing?

Hoop and the 86 team played it too conservative last week, and it puts them in a pretty large hole for this weekend. Hoop got knocked out of the top 10 late in the going, as other teams made more aggressive changes to improve their cars late. These guys need to adopt that strategy to have any hope this weekend. Some solid luck wouldn't hurt, either.

Both of these teams will need the stars to align perfectly in their favor to have any hope at the title. Expect them to end up anywhere but midpack come the checkered flag.

JZ - "Finally here at Homestead and I can't wait to get going. This is one of my most favorite tracks in the entire world. It's been great being with this team this year and I have absolute faith in them to bring the championship to Ford Performance Racing and Rockstar Energy Drink. Great job by everyone at the shop and I'll do my best to bring back something shinny."

Did not accomplish what we would have liked to have this season despite our win at Martinsville. We'll finish up this season and start preparing for next year.

Roger Sandri: "Yeah, this is the same car as last week. All we did was wash it and adjust the tire pressures really. We need to do something about the window net though, it's still a little sticky from all that champagne spraying around in Vegas."

John Hooper Sr. was sick in his coach this morning after he and Roger Sandri spent the evening at Tootsie's Cabaret. Hooper is said to be suffering from "too much South Beach drinks."

Yet again we're at 10th in "Q". Well, I guess we've got to get in front of the changes again *sigh* (takes some Alka Seltzer)

    RedBull-Webster Racing Transcript:

Zack Webster, driver of the #95 RedBull Toyota and owner of RedBull-Webster Racing met with his entire organization, including drivers Ryan Cole and Mike Grube in the Media Center earlier today.

Webster: Alright guys, this is it. Final race of the season and we have a lot of big things that can be accomplished. First off, I want to say how proud I am of this entire organization for all the accomplishments we have already made this year, most notably, the two wins for myself and the one win for Grube. The most important accomplishment we can get this weekend is the championship. I wish we could have gotten Cole and Grube up there with a shot of taking it, but I will do everything in my ability to ensure we take home this championship at night's end. Next thing on the list is the Team Championship. We've had strong performances from the entire team as a whole over this season, and we're coming into this final race only 10 points out of the lead. Let's just piece together a consistent run here, and we can take home that championship. Then for Cole and Grube, you guys have the Rookie of the Year to go for. Grube is 7 points out, Cole is 9. Again, a solid run could get you that honor at the end of the race. Simple as that. I have a lot of faith in this crew that we can bring back at least one, if not more of those honors, back to the shop with us when we leave Homestead. But no matter what happens, we've had an excellent season and we should keep our heads held high, no matter what happens Monday night.
