LAST WEEK: Jacob Craigo shocked the racing world, and himself, by winning the opening race of the SRD Cup Series Chase at Sonoma Raceway, locking himself into the 2nd round.

THIS WEEK: A new track to the circuit - Amory Digital Superspeedway! This 2.6 mile long tri-oval has a unique shape, teal walls, and you race 4-wide at minimum around the facility! The National Series race here a week ago proved that this track can have great racing, and several of the Cup drivers were in that race. Will anyone join Craigo in automatic advancement to Round 2? We'll find out this weekend!

I have been informed that SRDSN officials have gone to the incorrect track. Teams, meanwhile, have arrived at the CORRECT track: Armory Digital Superspeedway. If a mod can correct the thread title so it reads the Armory Digital 500 at Armory SS instead, that would be appreciated.

*EDIT* It appears someone has beat me to thepunch on that. Much appreciated.

Will Anderson - #81 Once Upon A Time In 2Fort Ford Fusion: "Pretty happy with the speed our car has had all weekend so far. The guys back at the shops worked their asses off getting our #81 Ford Fusion to handle well in traffic and unlike the other plate races, we seem to be able to suck up to other cars in the draft a little better & get the proper momentum to make moves in the pack. Our organization has been working hard on some stuff for next season and for the most part, it has been helping our performance on the track improve as the weeks go by. We may not have the results to show for it (crashes, DNF's, parts failures), but our Fords have been getting more consistent over the past few weeks and hopefully it can lead to some good things down the road.

As for qualifying, I'll gladly take a Top-5 start near the front of the pack over starting in the middle of the field any day. Ford has made some great progress in getting their plate engine package more competitive as the season has progressed and it really has shown so far this weekend. The boss man (Sean English) managed to just out-qualify use in his car towards the end of the qualifying session, so I look forward to working with both him and our other V2E teammate Cole DesRoisers in the pack for the race."

We have very little speed in the car. It doesn't like the draft and just has enough horsepower by itself. We've got some work to do.

"Car feels real good out there in the draft and out front. I like our speed so far and I think we might have a shot at this one. It came right down to the end last year for us so hopefully we can stay in contention and finish it off this year."

Drivers are strapping in for 87 laps in Seattle. How will the cars handle under green track conditions? Who will come out on top? We'll find out throughout the race today!

SRD Officials have announced that conclusion of lap 15, a competition caution will be thrown to monitor tire wear.

GREEN FLAG/LAP 2: Tim Kunkel gets the jump at the start! Off of turn 2, Jesse Dalton gets to his inside and takes the lead for himself! Off of turn 4, Will Anderson tries to get to the inside of the #02, but loses the run, allowing for Dalton to lead the first lap!

Lap 2 *LEAD CHANGE*: Jesse continues to race side-by-side with Will, but Anderson leads at the line. Meanwhile, behind the leaders they're 5 WIDE down the front straight! Everyone gets away cleanly as they head into turn 1!

Lap 3: Lots of jostling around as these 41 drivers try to navigate this track. Up ahead of the leaders already is Darren Ingram, who looked to have made a two-tire pit stop on lap 1. Perhaps a flat tire to start this race off?

Lap 7 *LEAD CHANGE*: The front three single-file entering turn 3 as they finally catch Ingram. Hooper Sr. looks low under Blanford for the lead, using Ingram as a pick! Curtain looks low under Hooper Sr.! They're 3-wide for the lead out of turn 4! Hooper Sr. gets momentarily caught behind Ingram, but retains 2nd as he dives under the #2 going into turn 1! Curtain gets the lead!

Thank goodness for the ability to save replays!

Lap 9 *LEAD CHANGE*: 3 lead changes within one lap? Something within the norm here at Armory SS as Ray Tustin takes the lead in turn 2, only to lose it in turn 3 to Zumwalt, who then gets passed along the front straight by Jesse Dalton.
