Last Race: A great strategy call propelled Kyle Missimer to the victory at Watkins Glen. With the win Missimer is secured into the next round of the playoffs. Merzlak, Ingram, and Mallon also with strong runs move them ahead in the playoff standings as we head into the second race of the first round.
This Race: The second of the three races in the first round of the playoffs comes at the Armory Digital SuperSpeedway. Anything can happen in this race and there is a good chance we could see a wreck take out some of the playoff drivers putting them in a possible must win situation going into Darlington.
    Race Info: 87 laps/226 miles
    2017 Pole Sitter: T. Kunkel (48.934)
2017 Race Winner: K. Batson [Ret.] (5 laps led)

Not sure when the race will be but should be in the next couple of days.

English and Dalton have the field lined up in tow as the pace car peels off. Green flag drops and we are underway!

Lap 1: Dalton and the top line keep things organized on the start and that lets the 77 jump out ahead and into the lead. English dropping back quickly with no help as Wichelman didn't get going on the start. Dalton will lead the opening lap ahead of Craigo who went from 21st to 2nd utilizing a big push from the 28 of Jordan to make up a ton of positions.

Lap 2: Jordan abandons the 62 and goes after the lead. Hooper right up to the back of the 28 and they will move by Dalton to take over the lead of the field. They both move back up in front of Dalton and 3 Toyotas now pace the field. The 28 of Jordan dominated our last superspeedway race but came up just short on a late restart.

Lap 5: The 28 unable to hold the lead for more than a lap and now Lennox and Ingram have both led a lap each, adding 1 point to their totals in the chase. Mallon now next in line to try and lead as the 93 races to the lead off of 2. Trouble down the backstretch as 1 car goes around and smoke engulfs the back half of the pack. Caution is out as somehow everyone misses the spinning car. Looks like it is one of our chasers that has run into trouble early on. Merzlak in the 7 facing the wrong way as we go under yellow for the first time tonight.

Looks like side drafting gone wrong. Smetana in the 5 tired to get down on the right rear of Merzlak and got a bit too close hooking the 7 in the just behind the door. That turns Merzlak up the track and eventually around in front of several cars but everyone is able to avoid. Very minimal damage to the 7.

Lap 9: Getting ready for the restart. Split strategies on pit road have the field mixed up. Blanford now the race leader and Slates in the 24 had problems on pit road leaving the 24 car now 1 lap down.

Lap 10: Green flag back out as the field gets back up to speed. Blanford the leader but not for long as Hawkins makes a move to the inside into turn 1. Hawkins to the front. Blanford follows in 2nd with Bleskachek in 3rd as they race by the frontstretch.

Lap 15: Will Anderson has made his way to the front to take over the race lead. No one able to hold onto the lead for more than a lap so far. Ingram, Craigo, and Bleskachek all led a lap. Now Spencer in the 13 moves to the lead with help from the 45. Further back 3 cars have lost the draft. Webster, Smetana, and Jordan not able to keep pace with the pack.

Lap 17: Matt O'Reilly now takes charge in the 16. our front row starters now back at the head of the field as well as English and Dalton run 2nd and 3rd respectively. Merzlak has rebounded from his early spin up into the top 10 after restarting at the back of the field.

Lap 18: O'Reilly the first driver so far to lead more than 1 green flag lap in a row. The 16 keeping a good pace out front. The rest of the field spread out 4 wide several rows deep.

Lap 19: Trouble on the backstretch again as 2 cars veer off towards the inside wall. Both cars slam hard into the safer barrier. Looks like Merzlak is involved once again and this time collects another car which looks to be the 45 of Hancock. Both cars with heavy damage after a hard hit to the inside wall. Looks like both of their races will end early. That'll be a big blow for Merlzak in the chase standings.

A very similar incident to the earlier caution. This time Merzlak a bit too aggressive with the side draft, gets into the left rear of Hancock down the backstretch and causes both cars to come down the track and into the inside wall.

Lap 22: Gearing up for the restart. O'Reilly still out front after a round of pitstops. Zack Webster in the 95 suffered a mechanical failure under caution and was forced to retire from the race. Kyle Missimer also with issues, reports of overheating. The 68 lost a lap as the crew worked to put water back into the cooling system. Luckily for them they won last time out and are already locked into the next round.

Lap 23: Green flag back out once again. O'Reilly able to hold the lead on the restart as the field bunches back up and starts to fan out. Dalton and Gegner race side by side for 2nd as they come back to the line with 20 laps before the end of the stage.

Lap 25: The 16 finally gives up the race lead after a strong run at the head of the pack. Gegner in the 29 leads at the line but Nixon and Wichelman are 3 wide with him as they race into turn 1. The 10 gets a big shove from the 77 down the back and he'll move out front as we come to start lap 26.

Lap 30: Wichelman and Gegner spent 5 laps out front and thwarted several challenges for the lead but now they switch positions. The 29 to the lead and the 10 to 2nd. Busch, Bleskachek, and Spencer the top 5. Hooper, Harkleroad, Jordan, Lennox, Llamas, Smetana, and Missimer have all fallen behind the pack and out of the draft. Without a caution it looks like they will lose a lap before the end of the stage.

Lap 34: 4 laps out front for the 29 and now Wichelman makes a move back to the front and immediately slides back up in front of the 29. Those two working very well together as we have 10 laps left before the end of the stage. Nixon the first of the chasers in 3rd. Anderson the only other chaser in the top 10 at the moment.

Lap 35: Wichelman and Gegner finally get overtaken as they get pinned in behind the slower car of Missimer. The 68 now 2 laps down as the field storms by. Dan Busch in the 9 takes advantage of the situation and moves out front ahead of Nixon, Anderson, Woodard, and Farrell.

Lap 39: Nixon and Woodard had teamed up at the front but now here comes the low line with a run. Farrell and Spencer linked up and they will power to the front into turn 1. That move is short lived though, Gegner in the 29 has recovered and has a group of cars lined up on the inside. Gegner pushed out in front at the line with Harris and Bleskachek in tow.

Lap 41: Coming to get 2 to go as the field comes up behind the slower cars of Smetana and Llamas. Gegner once again gets pinned in and will lose the lead. Craigo the first driver not held up and he'll move to the front over Dalton, Bleskachek, O'Reilly and Mallon.

Lap 42: O'Reilly makes his way back out in front with help from Blanford in the 22. They have the lead for now as the field comes to the line to see 1 lap to go in the stage.

Lap 43: O'Reilly out front but here comes Wichelman. He has finally recovered and broken free of mid pack. Curtain in the 97 tucked up under the rear bumper of the 10 and they will move by into the top 2 spots down the backstretch. Blanford now bails out from the top line and moves down behind Curtain. Green checkered in the air as they race to the line. Wichelman in the 10 will win the stage over Curtain, Blanford, O'Reilly and Mallon.
