Last Race: Billy Nixon grabbed his 2nd win of the season and 3rd overall at ORP. That put Nixon to the top of grid after collecting 5 more playoff points. Things tightened up near the cutoff line with just 2 points separating Smetana and Mallon.
This Race: 3 races remain before we reach the cutoff for the playoffs. The pressure starting to rise as those on the outside looking in will be giving it everything to make it inside the cutoff line by the end of the race at Richmond.
    Race Info: 80 laps/200 miles
    2017 Pole Sitter: D. Busch (51.005 sec)
2017 Race Winner: C. Llamas (27 laps led)
    Previous Winners: J. Hooper, Sr. (2015), M. Grube [Ret.] (2014), P. Johnson [Ret.] (2011)

Listen if we can't get a good finish come Sunday, let Shane and Jakub give it all they've got. Our number one objective is to get them into the playoffs with us.

@BrendonH12: "Same song, different verse... Fast in practice every week, but when qualifying rolls around, the speed just seems to disappear! But I'm glad to be back at Indy - the sight of my first - and only - IndyCar win! I'm hoping to repeat those results here this weekend."

"Starting 3rd? A car this good may have our team in the winner's circle... pending nothing goes wrong."

I feel like this is one of those races that plays out like a Talladega or Daytona.

You have to have enough of a car to be there at the end. I think we’ll give it our all. I’m not thinking we’re a winning car but, hell, Kahne didn’t last year and look at what happened.

"Good Q run but we need to turn a good day into a great day and get ourselves a win. We had a shot last year and gave it away, we can't do that again this year. We need to get up front and stay up front."

"This race will either make our chase run a reality or end it right here. We MUST have a good result or I dont see it happening."

Lennox and Isaacs have the field doubled up as they come down the frontstretch. The green flag flies and we are underway at Indy.

Lap 2: Lennox pulling away slightly as mid pack things are still dicey. One car around off turn 4 and into the wall down pit road. The 17 of DeCosta has been turned around. He rolls the car to his pit box and his crew are packing up already. The 17's day done 2 laps in. Replay shows the 48 of Llamas tagging DeCosta in the left rear off of 4. No caution.
