i like how its turning out.. i still have work to do on the pillars. how do you like the little blueish metal flake i added? Bullring for the Chevy SS, everything else, google, and a cropped and cut contigs from br12.. comments and criticism welcome..
I really like the way you've incorporate the Superman image on the rear QP of the car, it is in a really good location. However, I'd like to give you a few pointers (and yes, I understand it is still a WIP).
1. Before you finish the scheme, I'd suggest changing the color of the grill tape because the neon yellow looks truly hideous.
2. Watch the location of your contingencies. One, they are placed much too high. The Sprint Cup series logo should not be on the window frame at all, you should slide down the whole contingency set a little bit. In addition (and you're likely encountering this problem due to you using cropped out BR 12 contigs), you should spread the logos around the part of the template on the door that looks like a vent/grille type of thing. Look up photos of the real life Gen6 cars and you'll see what I mean.
3. This is a minor issue, but I see it a lot. Make sure your door numbers are not too big. I'm not a regular painter, so it took me a while too master the art of "door number sizing" . Your number looks just a tad oversized to me, and you may want to experiment with minor (and I mean very minor) rotations, although that is not necessary.
4. Lastly, just watch the pixelations issues you seem to have in a couple areas. This could very well be the result of the render, but the rear QP "Cromax Pro" textline and the number has some noticeable pixelation issues.
Overall, you do seem to have a pretty good grasp on painting (I've looked at some of your other work), and as I said before, I really like the way your incorporated the Superman figure. I'm not trying to rag on you or make you feel bad or anything, I just wanted to give a couple of helpful pointers.
And if I might add, downsize your roof number a little bit. I always center it, and leave an equal amount of open space both in front of and behind the number. I find a good size for the roof number is 333 x 342 pixels, or somewhere right around there. You obviously don't need to use that exact size. That's just the size of a number that I placed on one of my cars and it looks perfect to me. I don't use the roof sponsors on my fictionals or personal cars because I don't like how it looks. Hope this makes sense.
Overall, your car looks pretty decent.
Like the post above me said, downsize your door numbers just ever so slightly, and move them down a little bit too.
Move your contingencies down some, so the Sprint Cup decal is at least 7 - 10 pixel below the bottom of the driver's window sill.
Be careful about pixel distortion. I find that starting with a huge decal, even if it has jagged edges, by downsizing it, makes it very smooth looking. If I am making a decal from scratch, I start off by making it about 2 or 3 times bigger than it will be once placed on the car. Especially if I need to apply skew or rotate it.
I can't really tell you what color to make the grill tape. I don't apply grill tape on any of the Gen6's I paint, I just like the way it looks without it. I'd say go with your base color, or a flat / matte black or very dark gray with neon colored pull tabs so your crew guys can see where to grab in the event you need some tape removed!
Any questions or if you need any pointers let me know. I'm always happy to help anybody with painting.
