I think part of the hate is because Speed looks like a douchebag. Sorry, but he does look like one.

It's going to be funny this time next year when Kahne moves on, and Cole Whitt is still 1+ years away from being ready for the Cup Series.

Red Bull shouldn't ( or any team for that matter) have to pay a guy to drive their car with stats like these.

He can sue all he wants. But if indeed his contract was perfromance based, he hardly has a leg to stand on.

Notice his career stats...

How many times do I have to beat this dead horse? He's been in Cup TWO years!

'Dinger sure as hell wasn't putting up the stats he was now in his first seasons with RBR...

Not everyone comes in and lights the world on fire right off the bat, especially with a mediocre team. He's had a lot of good runs and flashes of brilliant potential...but the team as a whole struggles. I can remember a time when people were patient to see new talent develop...alas, in this win now era, everyone gets judged as if they have been racing Cup for 10 years.

He's definitely worse than Dale Jr. in stats, but two years, compared to 12 years, on the circuit seems a bit rash, right?

For the longest time, I remember how people call AJ Allmendinger either "Wallmendinger" or "AllmenDNQer." Look at him now. He gives out respectable to good runs, just unlucky. Sometimes, luck plays a role in the sport. I don't like Speed by any means, but if the sudden change of fortune plays well in AJ's hands, it can play well with Scott.

Tho, suing their employer for breach of contract seems a bit silly.

Yay for my love of taking stats and putting them into tables for comparative reasons..... l0l

First 2 full-time seasons for each driver listed.

* He DNQ'd 3 races but 2 of those he started the race in somebody elses car so only missed 1 race
** Robby attempted 72 races over 8 seasons (10 years & 1 win) before going Full Time in 2002

I don't see why everyone is saying RBR has crap for equipment. Look at Vickers. It seems like he is always top-10 or at least top-15 every week. Then if I remember correctly Mears had a few good finishes in the 83 in the closing weeks of '10.

I think we can definitely relate Speed and Allmendinger. But...maybe like a few other guys...Speed should be in Nationwide more than Cup.

Patience??? The guy has been in over 100 Cup races with only 1 Top 5. How long should we wait?

The whole "must finish 16th or higher in points" clause would've been impossible for even Vickers had he been in all year. Don't forget that even though they sometimes played some wacko fuel/tire strategy's, Scott was somewhat of a contender for probably the first 5 or so races until the whole organization fell off. RBR just was not up to par this season across the board. Vickers was falling off about the same amount before he was out after Dover.

It was saddening listening to how excited he was at Charlotte in October because he felt like his car could finally keep up with the top 15 cars. To me, it seemed as though the guy was just as disappointed with how he was running as RBR and didn't know what to do about it.

Either way, his release was somewhat bogus. If they're going to base their case completely off of the top 16 points clause then we had better be ready to see them become a revolving door of drivers. Because unless they step their Cup program up, no one is gonna be top 18 points capable there.

To think Dale Jr was, godforbid, good then.

Well now we know the crux of the matter:

Jayski.com said:
Speed said Wednesday that the filing of the lawsuit was in hopes of being able to pay bills due next year, given that the chances of now getting a ride for 2011 are slim.

So this is all about Speed trying to secure himself financially for the short-term future while he looks for a ride. The rest of it just goes into the end result of the suit.

He didn't save up the money he's made over 7+ year of Professional racing to be able to live for a year without solid employment he has bigger issues then being fired.

Somebody should send him the Vh1 Behind the Music or E! True Hollywood Story of MC Hammer.
