He didn't save up the money he's made over 7+ year of Professional racing to be able to live for a year without solid employment he has bigger issues then being fired.

I don't think it's like that really. Speed's a young driver. Maybe he has money saved, maybe he doesn't. Even if he does, he does NOT want to eat into that savings to pay bills that a job as a race car driver would pay. Combine that with a relatively ugly seperation and viola, lawsuit.

Do any of you sincerely believe that Speed had no inkling he may be let go?

His head would have to be in some pretty thick cloud not to.

Riding around in 27th place for 2 seasons should have given him a clue.

He should have at least been working on a Plan B.

Not if his contract forbids him to do so...

All that prevents him from doing is going to another team with a lawyer/agent and saying "Can I have a contract". It doesn't stop him from talking to any one of the numerous team owners in various levels that he is friends with and saying... "Man I might be looking for a ride next year, ya think ya got one for me...? winkwink nudgenudge"

Ah, alright. Thanks for the clarification. I thought any looking could be considered breach of contract.

Oh I'm sure if they found out it could, but common sense tells ya that those type of "Hypothetically if I need a ride next year" conversations go on a lot.

My guess is its the drivers. I mean, brian vickers isnt that bad, kasey kahne im predicting will have success, scott speed.... Lol. Remember, red bull's has lots of success in f1, but how many in nascar. I believe 1. Scott will gain experience though, just watch.

So I'll state the obvious and point out that suing your former race team doesn't exactly make other teams want to pick up the phone and inquire about your services.

Just sayin'!
