As for the "reality" shows, it is what it is. Any channel you watch is going to have them. As ridiculous as they can be, theres still plenty of people that get sucked in and watch them (not sure why). So they arent going anywhere no matter who owns the channel, or what its called.

^Yeah, that about sums it up. Like the other night I got home from class and ended up watching a 3 hour marathon of "Hard Parts". I don't know why...but it was just interesting lol

Speed hasn't been speed for almost ten years. I remember when it was all racing. Over the last 10 years is has become a joke. Like every other network. I can not even watch there so called NASCAR coverage. I miss there old days of covering NASCAR.

I wish they would go back to showing races from Europe and around the globe. We do not need 18 hours of NASCAR on one channel. When there is live racing some were. I would not care if it was on a tape delay. I would watch it.

Less racing, more baseball? That's how I understood it, anyway, so now I'm gonna go throw up. And people wonder how I can hate baseball.

Does anyone know how this might affect their truck and F1 coverage?

I'll admit, the NASCAR coverage is overkill. I would personally like to see some WEC coverage and more attention to Grand Am/ALMS for next year, but I don't want baseball!

Yea baseball I can not watch. Well on tv. When fox got the rights to the UFC last year. There first fight was on all the fox family channels. Once a while like last night. There was some UFC stuff on speed.

Heres an idea; rename speed as Fox Racing and make a NEW channel for baseball.

MRN should make The Racing Network, make it basic cable, and acquire Modified, Truck, and K and N East/West broadcasting rights, plus expand to F1 and/or maybe IndyCar.

A man can dream.

From what I've heard, if the re-branding were to happen, what is now FuelTV would essentially become the new Speed.

We would have to upgrade our package to even get that channel. i dont think fuel will be the new speed because they show alot of ufc fights on fueltv, i hope nascar doesnt go over to nbc sports network because i dont get that channel either. Maybe its time for nascar to have their own network.

This has literally ruined my weekend. SPEED is really the network I watch the most. I like how I can set my television on SPEED and leave it there for the entire weekend. I don't care about Hard Knocks, and Octane Academy. But for the sake of god, can't I get one channel of things I'm interested in. Baseball, basketball, football, and every other form of stick and ball sports gets enough coverage on just about everything. There is always some sports coverage on the endless Everything SPorts Networks.

I thought the best of Fox because they had SPEED. Now I hate it.

SPEED was(and forever be) probably the strongest racing broadcasting network. I hope they cut all the other sports out, and have the true SPEED vision back with live(or taped) racing action 24/7. Bring back TWIN, and other great shows, tired of all this reality shows on it now. Time for reality to set in, and focus on the true "reality."

NASCAR dose not need there own channel. There will be so many bad things that could come from it. First the cost, will it be be available on every network. Also once its one every available network at lest here in the states. NASCAR could move all races to that channel. I will not pay to see a race. I would not even pay to have a NASCAR channel. I would be glad to pay for a motorsports network. If it was like speed use to be in the late 90s early 00's

Also there is talks of some thing like what speed use to be. One of the former Speed higher ups. Is trying to get a motorsports channel like speed use to be.

Yeah the most significant indicator I get from this rebranding is that more sports than just motorsports can now be on this channel. It's Fox trying to get more out of their asset.

To be perfectly honest, we don't really need EVERY practice session televised...

I agree with this. As a fan you can not base a whole weekend on a 90 minute session. I watch p2 in f1 on speed because they talk about stuff. That has happened in F1 in the last two or three weeks. That I might not have read some were else.

We also do not need the dozens of shows that talk about NASCAR. Every network and show says the same thing. Then they repeat it all. On Sunday on the three hour pre game show.

Well, rebranded or not, i still think it would be pretty badass to be able to flip on the SPEED channel, or FOX One, or NASCAR channel, and watch a race from the '80s or '90s in the middle of the week. That would be cool.

That's what ESPN Classic used to be good for before it got uber-restrictive.

For those who are saying "we dont need all these NASCAR shows" so on and so forth, just a suggestion - dont watch them! There are plenty of fans who are thankful for every single NASCAR show there is. Nobody else will give it the respect and time of day, so if one channel wanted to do that, whats the problem? Nobody is forcing you to tune in.

To each their own, but I just dont get this mentality of "I dont care to watch it, therefore, they should take it off the air". The programs and coverage are put on TV for those who want to watch it (and theres more than enough people who do). And those who dont want to watch it, can change the channel, or turn off the TV, or go outside, or do whatever.

I'll admit, the NASCAR coverage is overkill. I would personally like to see some WEC coverage and more attention to Grand Am/ALMS for next year, but I don't want baseball!

WEC doesnt even exist anymore, and hasnt for a couple years now.

Why not? NHL, NFL, MLB, Golf, and many more have their own channel. Why cant NASCAR? If you dont care for it, then dont buy it. Its really that simple. NASCAR wouldnt move the races to a pay-per-view deal like that, so you wouldnt be missing anything.

To be perfectly honest, we don't really need EVERY practice session televised...

As I asked above, why not? There are plenty of fans who are very thankful for that coverage, and watch it every time its on. Besides, its just two, sometimes three, practices a weekend. Its not like its a 10-hour Barrett-Jackson auction or something. Its a couple hours out of the weekend and thats it. If they wernt being broadcasted, it would probably just be one of these "reality" shows anyways.

We also do not need the dozens of shows that talk about NASCAR. Every network and show says the same thing. Then they repeat it all. On Sunday on the three hour pre game show.

I've never seen this "three-hour pregame show" you speak of...Unless you're talking about football...

Aside from that, how does every network repeat the same thing that is shown on dozens of shows? Most networks dont even talk about NASCAR, and if they do, its a real brief minute just to report what happened in the race or something like that. Then its back to football and baseball. The shows they put on SPEED give fans something they cant get anywhere else. Its much more in depth coverage, lots of news and interviews, features, and all kinds of stuff. There aint any other networks doing that. And theres plenty of people who watch these shows too.

Like I said above, and to each their own, but if you dont care for them, then dont watch them.
