Sports Car game recommendations?

Hey all,
I use to love playing "Sports Car GT" by EA sports, but I'm looking for something a little more updated now. Do you guys have any suggestions for a similar game that is more up to date? Something with good cockpit graphics maybe? I'm not into the off road rally car racing, just looking for a good GT game. Thanks.

For the PC try RACE 07 or Gran Prix Legends

GTR2, Race07 and coming out on the 24th of this month is RACE On.

EDIT: All of the above mentioned sims are ran on the rFactor engine...so that's also an option.

Thanks guys....after reading reviews and watching some demos...i chose GTR 2....it seemed to have what i was looking for and some mods too.

I think you'll be happy with GTR2. I looked for a long time for a really good Road Racing game. GTR2 has decent physic's and graphics. You can also get great downloads from nogripracing.com

I heard the Endurance mod for rFactor is good, so I'm giving that a shot. Other than that, you can't go wrong with GTR2.

iRacing will have the Mustang and Corvette soon.

Keyword being soon...and together they'll cost you $30 plus a subscription. Definitley the way to go if all he wants to do is pickup races, but for now GTR2 and all the mods are $20.

I know once they drop the Mustang I may re-up.

Also the Vette and Stang will most likely be a C or above license. Even though you can test them with any license. (I wish they'd make a standalone offline mode tho, but that's off topic)

Yep, there's a SPEED challenge (think SCCA Speed World Challenge) on no-grip.com, plus a bunch of tracks the SCCA runs at.

They also just released a patch to fix the GTR2 Server Lobby so be sure to get that.

All good information. I got my copy of GTR2 thsi past weekend and downloaded a few updates. Work in progress, but I am very happy with the game as a whole. I would recommend it.

I really like it as an intro to road racing. I love the Driving School aspect of it, you should've seen me slithering around on other sims before I tried that out lol. Now I'm probably a better road racer than an oval racer.

Yeah...that's one reason why I wanted it, to improve my road racing. I use to hate road racing :arghh:, but the diversity is what makes it fun:twitcy:.
