The SRD Indy Series returns to Florida for the second double-header event of the season. Drivers will once again take on both configurations of the venue, this time at Pensacola International Speedway.

    Race Info:

    - DHL Twin 150's
    - Pensacola International Speedway
    - 3 mile superspeedway / 5.3 mile road course
    - 50 laps/28 laps - 150/148.4 miles each

    Pensacola RC Map.png

    Weekend Schedule:

    Tuesday: Oval Practice (60 mins)/Qualifying
    Wednesday: Happy Hour (30 mins)/Race (50 laps)
    Thursday: Road Practice (60 mins)/Qualifying
    Friday: Happy Hour (30 mins)/Race (28 laps)

    Race Notes:
Last week's event at Lime Rock featured a great battle between the leads, with Darren Ingram making a move on Alex Scheidly in the final corners to grab the win. This week, the drivers take on the double-header at Pensacola International Speedway, which features the 3 mile superspeedway, as well as the 5.3 mile road course. All drivers will be in a stronger car (aka moderate damage) for both events this weekend. The likelihood for the "Big One" is possible on the superspeedway, so drivers will have to make smart moves to avoid chaos. The biggest challenge for the road course will be hitting the braking points correctly, and not other competitors.

There are close battles all across the championships this weekend. Maulana didn't gain any points last week, while Spencer and Ingram both caught up in the RC Standings. A bad performance out of Maulana on the final road course event could present us with a different champion after Maulana had a large lead early on. If Wichelman has a poor race on the superspeedway, he could lose his hold over the Oval Standings on the way into Indianapolis. Additionally, our overall championship battle is up in the air as Ingram and Spencer swap the top spot, with many other contenders hoping for a slip up.

"Won't lie, our championship hopes depend on our strength this weekend. If it's anything like Denver, we are done, but I fully believe we can still contend."

We found some speed in qualifying trim. Now we've got to figure out a way to adapt it to our race trim.

Welp, by the looks of our practice and Q speed it’s about that time to blow our Oval Championship lead

Fiorentini: "So far, we've struggled to get that car up to speed, and our qualifying result certainly reflects that. I'm not expecting us to compete for a good finish this time, I'm just waiting for the road course race and also hoping that no rotten luck strikes us this time. Lime Rock Park still hurts."

@BrendonH12: “Man, these last few weeks have been rough, to say the least. We still got some work to do on our Coca-Cola/Reese’s Chevy, but I think we’ve shown at times that we can get there. Let’s see... Nick was top 10 in both first practice and qualifying, and Everett was 2nd fastest in final practice, so I’m seeing some speed out of those two so far, but those two teams still have some work to do as well. We’ll just have to see what happens once that green flag drops...”

And @thedude1987, I don’t know the exact number, but with all your crashing lately, I know we’ve got to be hurting on #87’s. ;)

Overall practice was good but we lost our speed in race trim after qualifying. I’m hoping we can put something to together quickly.

After a lengthy rain delay (aka, I got a little busier than expected and didn't get to run this yesterday), the SRD Indy drivers are strapped in and ready to go here on the Pensacola SuperSpeedway.
