Another fuel mileage race, another week in which some totals took a nose dive in the final laps of the race.
Of the 46 entrants, 40 scored at least 150 points, and 13 entrants topped 175 for the week.
This week's winner is an example of perseverance paying off. After his first full season in 2010 resulted in a strong 15th place in the final standings, his 2011 season has been nothing but disappointment, mired back in the 30s in the standings. In his 73rd career entry, moppenheimer takes his first career SRD Pick'em Series win. He does it with a 195 point week, eking out a win by just 3 points over Henderson. Saan Anguish was 3rd, with 191. smokin_fast24 was the highest Chaser, finishing 4th with 184 points. burtonbraves rounds out the top 5.
FloridaFan88 finishes 6th, as the second highest finishing Chaser. CMennie47 ties for 9th.
Of the remaining Chasers, JeffJordan was 14th, Bgartz29 18th, 24JGM and Jeeble tied for 24th, Ryan597 and jaqua99 tied for 30th, Fishtail 33rd, DE3 41st, and Jagnole3 43rd.

Jeeble maintained the points lead for the 11th consecutive week, but saw his lead shrink. smokin_fast24's 4th place, 184 point finish moves him from 4th to 2nd, just 17 points behind Jeeble. CMennie47 remains 3rd, and picks up 16 points on the lead, now just 20 behind Jeeble. 24JGM tied Jeeble this week with a 163 point, 24th place finish, and remains 35 points back, but falls from 2nd to 4th. FloridaFan88 moves from 6th to 5th this week, while Bgartz29 jumps from 8th to 6th. jaqua99 maintains 7th, but loses two points to the lead, now 63 back of the lead. JeffJordan moves from 10th to 8th, Jagnole3 falls from 5th to 9th, now tied with Fishtail for the spot, 70 points out of the lead. Ryan597 moves to 11th, swapping spots with DE3 who moves to 12th.
In the race for the 'best of the rest' and 13th place, dspence14 uses a big 8th place, 178 point week. and increases his lead over 14th to 24 points over db512 who moves from 15th to 14th. bhintze drops back to 15th, 34 points back, after not entering picks this week. SHB continues his march up the standings after another top 10. He finishes tied for 6th this week, with 180 points, to move him to 16th, 58 points behind 13th. taz1458 holds steady in 17th, with evan07 dropping down from 16th to 18th. NASCARsweden and SWM_Billy29577 round out the top 20.
As a reminder, for those outside of the Chase, the season point total is based on the best 22 totals of the full season.

In the battle for Rookie of the Year, Fishtail has another off week, competitively. Jeeble and 24JGM each pick up 8 points on him this week. Fishtail now holds a 2 point lead on Jeeble, and is 45 points up on 24JGM who sits 3rd. Saan Anguish and SHB round out the top 5.

It's just probably because of all these fuel milage races that we've been having lately. They're so unpredictable.
And I'm not a big fan of these fuel milage races either.

Any chance of winning ROTY is diminishing rather quickly with these poor scores.. Though it's nice that since I hit 22 starts I went back to where I was before, gaining 11 spots from 45th to 34th.. lol. Guess my best bet is to hope for 13th or so in overall points.
