Hmm...

Johnson: 4th
Hamlin: 8th
Bowyer: 9th
Gordon: 2nd
Truex Jr: 6th

Another excellent week for me. Never had two weeks in a row where every pick I made finished in the Top-10.

Rough total: 197 or so (give or take a few points, excluding whatever bonus points from getting Logano correct as the N'wide pick) (y)

Sunday's race in Dover was much like Dover itself - full of up's and down's - ultimately making for one long, long day. The up's included Brad Keselowski backing into a win thanks to Paul Wolfe's strategy and some inferior gas mileage by Toyota and Hendrick engines. Carl Edwards saw improved performance, leading a few players having increased scores after putting their faith in Carl. Matt Kenseth dragged down several scores with his forgettable 35th place result, while weekly favorites Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer and others proved their consistency yet again.

For the SRD Pick'Em series, it is yet another historical weekend. Last week we saw our first tie for the win in more than two years, and the highest score since the new points system was adopted at the start of 2011. This week has seen something that's NEVER happened since Mike started this game in 2007. For the first time in SRD Pick'Em Series history...we have a three way tie for the win! :-O

Last week's tie was broken by average score per pick. This week, all three also tied for average score per pick - a feat not seen since fall Talladega 2008! By rule, when average score per pick is also tied, the next tiebreaker is how close a player's picks are to the actual result. Remember, 7 bonus points are awarded for picking the race winner, and 4 bonus points are awarded for accurately picking 2nd-5th in any given race. The rest of the picks don't earn any bonus points for accuracy, but do factor into the 2nd tiebreaker. This is what we will use this week.

Our lucky top 3 finishers who all scored 209 this week are Jagnole3, Wesley Slates, and in a tie for the win for the 2nd straight week - roostmotor87!

The tiebreaker calculations are as follows. The winner is the player whose sum of the absolute values of the difference between their picks' places and actual results is lowest. I'll use my own picks as an example. I picked Brad Keselowski to finish 2nd and Brad's actual result was 1st - a difference of 1. (The 1 being positive since Brad finished 1 place higher than my pick.) That difference's absolute value is 1, meaning the pick was 1 place off of the result. My other 4 picks were Hamlin 1st, who finished 8th, difference of -7, absolute value of 7; Johnson 3rd, finished 2nd, difference of 1, absolute value of 1; Bowyer 4th, finished 9th, difference -5, absolute value 5; Kesenth 5th, finished 35th, difference -30, absolute value 30. The sum of the absolute values is 44, meaning my picks were a combined 44 places off from the actual results.

Here are the tiebreaker calculations:

Therefore, this week's official winner is roostmotor87! Congrats on your first career SRD Pick'Em Series victory! :)

Like last week, both Jagnole3 and Wesley Slates will receive the full 10 bonus points for having the week's top score. The top 5 was rounded out by GDP Racing finishing 4th just 1 point behind at 208, and degatime88 in 5th with 204. The rest of the top 10 all reached the 200 point mark, though scores were down overall from last week's scoring bonanza.

Here are the full results from Chase race #3 at Dover:

The points standings did get shuffled around a bit thanks to Matt Kenseth dragging some scores down with others happily dropping a forgettable performance earlier in the season. roostmotor87 doubles his lead in the overall standings to 55 markers over 2nd place FloridaFan88. degatime88 rides a 5th place finish into 3rd, just 1 point back of 2nd place. Wesley Slates improves to 7th from 10th after his stellar performance this week. db152's dismal 42nd place finish drops him from 3rd to 8th in the standings. Fortunately only the best 7 of 10 Chase races ultimately count. Look for some revenge exacted by this week's low performers.

johnp gains a bit over the non-Chase crowd in the race for 13th. johnp now leads new 14th place ryan78 by 45 markers, and 15th place former series champion DE3 by 47. Everyone else more or less maintains position in the points, though they're all a little bit further behind 13th place.

Here are the points standings after this week's race in Dover:

The battle for Rookie of the Year is now solidly a two horse race, though roostmotor87's 2nd straight week of being tied for the win has made it slightly difficult for anyone to gain ground on him. degatime88 is trying his best to keep up, but lost another 4 points and is now 12 back of roostmotor87 with 7 races to go. Wesley Slates also finishes tied for 1st and subsequently did not lose any ground, but remains a distant 82 points back.

Here are the Rookie Points:

Finally, looking ahead to the upcoming weekend at Talladega, here are the potential low totals that could be erased with an improved performance:

There ya go. Good luck in Talladega everybody!

My 3rd Top-10 finish of the year and the 3rd highest total of points (200) that I have ever earned. Just wonder what could have been had I went with Keselowski instead of Bowyer. Congrats to roostmotor87 on his first ever win in the 2012 AAA 400 Pick-Em event.

I was looking over the results and I didn't see my name on there. So I'm thinking what happened? Then I went to look at where I put my pics in. I come to find that my Cup Top 5 was blank. I know I put my pics in but for some reason it didn't save it.
