How come all cats love boxes? Every cat I've known slept in boxes they didn't fit in. It's always made me wonder...

I love cats. I actually want one really bad, but I have never really looked into getting one. When I was like 2 or three my family had two cats. Lets say when I was old enough to know that chasing cats was a bad thing, they would try biting me every time I was in a 5 foot radius of either of them. I'll see if I can dig up a picture or two of them.
