Does anybody else think that Stewart-Hass may run a car for Lewis Hamilton once Hamilton's F1 career is over/an off week? I mean, they did a car swap and are sponsored by Mobil 1 so could we see maybe a Watkins Glen race with Tony Stewart in the #14 Office Depot Chevy and Lewis Hamilton in a, say, #41 Mobil 1 Chevrolet?

Never! First of all, Mobil is not Hamilton's sponsor but McLaren's sponsor. They could've done the car swap with Jenson Button as well. Hamilton might leave McLaren after this season and so he'd leave sponsor Mobil.

Besides that Hamilton stated that if his Formula one career is over one day he'd most likely do some endurance racing like the 24 hours of Le Mans.

I don't see him racing in Nascar ever.

I always thought Lewis was to short to reach the pedals anyway.

I don't see that happening. He looked like he had a lot of fun during the car swap, but so did Tony Stewart and he's not going to F1 (He would get too many penalties for passing people). Both of them are better off staying where they are.

Very unlikely. Stewart-Haas Racing has barely enough sponsorship to hold its self.

Even in 10-20 years when he he done with F1. He should have a number of F1 championships. I do not think any one in the NASCAR car world will be able to afford him.

Also because he liked driving the car. Doesn't mean he would want to do it for a living. That would be like me joining the Army. Because I like to shoot guns.

The car swap was nothing more then a sponsor promo event, it wasn't that Lewis wanted to run an SHR car or that Tony had wanted to drive the McLaren, it was that Mobil 1 figured the best way to get some advertising in the USA for the F1 sponsorship was to have a swap with their NASCAR driver. Had Jeremy Mayfield still been sponsored by Mobil 1 the swap would've been with him, had Ralph Schumacher been the driver for the Mobil 1 backed F1 team then he would've been part of the swap, etc.

Vodafone also did a similar thing with Jenson Button & one of their V8Supercar drivers the other year at Bathurst.

It's just as likely as Tony Stewart leaving Nascar to go race F1.

As in, not bloody likely.

It could be awesome thinking that one day we could be seeing Lewis Hamliton run a Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen in a Stewart/Hass Impala, but the likelihood of such a thing ever happening is non-existant.

Somewhat (or significantly) misleading with the thread title...

I saw it and thought to myself, "Huh? I've never heard anything about this potentially happening. Hell, I've been listening to Sirius all day today and I was just on Jayski two minutes ago, and not a single mention about it."

So now that I'm here and seeing we're talking hypothetically - No. Not a chance in hell.

He's the same height as Kasey Kahne.

Really? Have you seriously not seen the commercial where Smoke says that about Lewis?

That'll happen right after I wife Mila Kunis...so in short probably won't happen

Even though it's unlikely, you've got impeccable taste my friend.

Anyway...back on topic, regarding Lewis Hamilton ever competing in any sort of NASCAR sanctioned race: No.
