Football - running down a 100-yard field in sparkly pants holding an egg while other sparkly pants men run and try to tackle you. If you get in the "magic ends" the fans go nuts and crush Bud Light cans against their heads.
Motorsport - driving an unstable car with a 700-horsepower engine around a track at 200mph with 42 others gnawing at each other. If you win the fans go nuts and crush Bud Light cans against their heads, or throw them at you.
It depends on position. A good QB,TE, WR etc needs ridiculous amounts of skills in order to do their job correctly. However a line man or a full back etc. need mostly strength and size.
You really can't compare the two skill sets because they're applied completely differently
Brandon is smack on. This shouldn't even be a debate because it's not debatable. It's not like you're comparing apples and oranges. You're trying to compare apples to elephants.
See, the problem here is your definition of skill. Skill in what? The football players definitely have more skill in those areas than most motorsports drivers, but that's only because they're trained in that certain field. Motorsports drivers on the other hand, have a very distinct and different set of skills that they apply when they race against each other. How does a debate like this even exist? It boggles my mind, it's like comparing chess to weightlifting, competitors in both have their own set of abilities that they apply to the sport that they compete in.
Yeah...honestly, we're wasting our time even merely arguing about it. You're not going to convince me that one requires more skill than another and vice versa.
If the thread is needed t be closed, by all means go ahead, it was just a petty debate a friend and I had, and I just came to see public opinion. Your points are correct, it is useless.
