I really do like them. My parents have offered to buy me a car since they are moving out of Knoxville soon. I have a price limit of 3500 and my mother says NO American. I'm not going to argue the price (after all they are buying), but I'm going to try and wiggle out of the no American part if I get lucky and find a Monte Carlo in that body style and in good running order.

or this...

To bad they canceled it a year before the proposed re-design :(

I've always wanted to make a real life version of the 1988 Camaro IROC concept from the Gran Turismo games.

I'm currently looking at a 2005 Monte Carlo SS. I'll be the one paying for it, but I have to get a job first.

Not an American manufacturer (Chevy, Ford, Dodge/Chrysler). Main reason was they didn't seem to hold up as well as Japanese cars and the maintenance costs (which will be mine) just seem to be too high. However, my grandfather has owned a few GMC's and never had a problem until this last one that he traded in for a Nissan. My mom has driven Nissans as long as I've been alive and my dad has driven two Nissans and a Dodge, which I would also consider (Dakota or Durango). I really have my eye on Subaru. My dad, who was in the car business for over two decades really likes them because of the huge amount of miles you can put on them. I'm looking for something that can have a lot of miles put on it considering I will have to go Knoxville to Nashville or Knoxville to Memphis and back a few times a year until I get out of college, get my first real job, then get a newer car.

As you can tell I like Toyota. The Toyota Camry is a great car (that is what I have) they just keep going and going. I read somewhere they have the most old running cars or something. Also the Camry is a very safe car which is extremely important if you get into a wreck. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not against any foreign car. I actually prefer them for the sole reason that Toyotas, Nissans and Hondas never stop. However, if I can find a Monte Carlo, Dakota, or Durango that's in good shape and cheap, I might have to wiggle out of the no American rule. American cars can run like sweeties if you just take care of them.

I had a '76 Ford LTD that save my life four times.....the last hitting a tree head on at 25mph (icy road...more like 50)...I'd still have it if it didn't knock the frame 6 inches off center...

Giggity.

The 2012 Holden Colorado, known throughout the rest of the world as the Chevy Colorado.... Well the rest of the world except the USA (and I'm guessing Canada) where it WILL NOT be sold. :(

Both my cars:
1998 Ford Taurus 3.0L Vulcan V6 240,000 miles and still running strong. These motors never quit.

1976 Mercury Cougar XR7: Project car, 84,000 original miles on car 351 Windsor V8 re-manufactured by Jasper and installed by previous owner. (about 15,000 on motor now) C4 3-Speed Auto. Needs the back fenders patched the Landau top is nice and faded but other than that she is in outstanding shape and yes the 8-Track still works.

It's the same story for the new Ford Ranger. They're not even going to try to compete with the Tacoma.

It's not that Chevy/Ford don't want to compete with the Tacoma and other Compact/mid-size trucks it's that they don't want to take sales away from the Silverado/F-Series. It's a shame (and part of the reason American Car companies have been in the trouble they've been in) is that instead of updating their old dinosaurs to what the people want, or giving them Compact/Mid-Size options like the Global Ranger/Colorado they just keep-on keeping-on with old-styled outdated "Boring" trucks like the F-Series & Silverado.

The thing is it's actually hurting them more in the end now because American Customers now realize that instead of buying one of those dinosaurs that they don't really want they can get a Toyota/Nissan/Honda for around the same price but with better options, quality & styling.

Ford still says the F-Series is the best selling truck in the USA, I wonder how many of those sales are from Fleet Sales.

So, the Sandman has a new dream car....

The early 70's Alfa Romeo Montreal. There is a shop near me that specializes in Alfa restorations, and they just finished one of these. I want it badly, but I don't feel like plunking down a year's salary that needs to be spent on other things.
