Okay so continuing with this situation from last year, this is happening.

Jayski on it:

Trucks to Road America in 2013? - Canadian track also hoping to be in the mix: NASCAR is expected to announce soon that the Camping World Truck Series will return to road-course racing in the 2013 season and that is great news for Canada's Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. A source close to Camping World loop told the Toronto Sun that negotiations are all but complete to add a race at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., for next season. That same source also said NASCAR would most certainly add a second road course so that it would make economic sense for the truck teams. "Teams would have to construct purpose built trucks for Road America so to keep those costs in line a second race just makes sense." A truck race at CTMS--formerly Mosport--would be a prefect fit for the track's new owners. Ron Fellows--and his partners Alan Boughton and Carlo Fidani--have been actively pursuing a top NASCAR touring series race. "I was on the phone June 1 (the day the group announced it had purchased the legendary Ontario track) with NASCAR officials telling them we wanted a race," Fellows said in a phone interview from Toronto. "And we are continuing to seek a race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park." It will be at least mid to late summer before NASCAR bosses release their 2013 schedules but it is now a good bet that there will be two truck races turning left and right next season. Fellows said that the addition of Canadian Tire--a major NASCAR partner--as the name sponsor at CTMS will boost the track chances at getting the nod for a race.(TorontoSun.com)(3-11-2012)

Would be awesome to see them at both, Mosport (I refuse to call it CTMP) would be awesome especially.

Trucks back to Portland please?

Won't happen though, for god's sake the main "grandstands" are metal bleachers.

Anyway this is still exciting news. I'm glad they are looking at tracks that are not in Cup and Nationwide.

All I can think of is Biffle wheel hopping at the Glen in 98 when I think of Trucks at Road Courses :)

Makes me smile every time.

It would be neat to see the Trucks go back to Watkin's Glen and go pay Mosport a yearly visit starting next year. I do like Road America, but I think Mosport would provide for some great Truck action.

The more road courses in more series, the better as far as I'm concerned. They're the only races I can really get all that excited about watching anymore.

A bigger Canadian presence is awesome as well, especially since this'll tap the Ontario market instead of just the Quebec market where half of the people (at least) seem to hate Americans.

Trucks track wishlist:
Road America - Check
Milwaukee - Nope
Gateway - Not a chance
Mansfield - Nope
Watkins Glen - Maybe?
South Boston - Nope
Rockingham - Check
We need to get more of these in the Trucks, and get rid of the crappy tracks! Although the trucks put on a great show almost everywhere.

Add North Wilkesboro to that wishlist as well...would love to see NASCAR return to the track they abandoned for "bigger" venues after 1996.

North wilksbro will never happen again. Has any one seen what the track looks like. Half the bleachers are falling down. The track need to be repaved. The inside of the track looks like a jungle. It would be cheaper to tear down the track and build a new one.

As for the tucks road racing. I have never seen them road race. If they go to Road America that would be nice. Road America use to be used a few times a year. Now with the run offs, classic races, Nationwide, ALMS, and a few others its getting more popular. The only down fall is its in the middle of no were. The biggest city near Road America is Green Bay. And that is almost a hour north.

Here's pics from April 10, 2011. I was born and raised in Wilkes County, 20 mins. from the speedway. Where's this track that needs to be torn down?

SWM_Billy you have to admit there is a huge difference between the Amateurs and Top tier NASCAR. It looks far better but I still don't see it meeting NASCAR requirements. That don't even include the safety. The money it would cost just to get that to meet NASCAR safety standards alone will cost a lot. Then the buildings, grand stands, and other items. It is not worth it in my mind.
