The COT's would just look funny there. Bring ARCA. They're old school and always looking for new tracks.

I agree the place is outdated, and was in poor condition for several years, even before the Cup Series moved away. To say the place should be bulldozed is a stretch. Compared to 1 1/2 mile tracks that replaced it, you'll never get the seating capacity or the amenities in North Wilkesboro. What you get there is better racing.
As far as trucks and road courses go (sorry bout the rant) I'd love to see them go international, Suzuka or Mexico City.

And SWM_Billy don't worry about the rant. I know you didn't offend me. You were just saying what was on your mind.

Speaking of Mexico. How come they stoped racing there? I didn't enjoy the racing munch. But it was cool to see them some were different. If you want them to go international. I have few tracks I think would be cool. SPA, Silverstone, Monza, Abu Dubai under the lights.

The whole "Going International" thing like going to Silverstone or Monza probably won't happen, just because of the costs to transports stuff overseas. I could see the trucks going to Montreal but thats about it as far as outside of the USA.

It would take a lot of sponsor money to get a race overseas. I know how unlikely it would be, but think about this. NASCAR and F1 should collaborate on an event or two, and see how it goes over. Work a truck race in as a companion event to an F1 Grand Prix, maybe Montreal or Suzuka, places NASCAR has been. Then, add F1 Grand Prix at Daytona during Speedweeks. Everybody happy, right?

F1 at Daytona would be 10 times worse than Indy at any of the mile and a halfs, even if. They ran the RC. I do, however like the idea of a F1 NASCAR weekend.

Yeah, I can't imagine the carnage that would be if F1 tried an oval. I tossed Daytona out there because they've got the road course, and Speedweeks already has so many different events. I didn't realize, until looking it up, exactly how many tracks have road course configurations. There are several that have hosted IMSA and SCCA, I assume they could be prepped for Formula 1.

I don't think that Daytona's road course is up to the standards of F1. I know they have very very strict regulations regarding race tracks, except for Monaco I believe. Maybe when the new road course in Texas gets built, we can have an F1/nascar weekend. How about we throw in V8 supercars for giggles. Now THAT would draw a huge crowd.

I think they all ready are talking about a v8 NASCAR weekend at Texas. But that was before all the bs that went down and is still going down.

I'd like to see NASCAR at Barber Motorsports Park. Nice track for racing and spectators.

But I think NASCAR needs to bring back more short tracks. Start in the truck and NW series and give the tracks a chance to expand and handle big time events. If the Cup series added 2 more short tracks to the schedule I think ratings would start to recover faster,

^^^This!! Bring back the short tracks! It was hard watching NASCAR abandon it's short track roots for cookie-cutter tracks. North Wilkesboro and Myrtle Beach are prime examples to me because I've lived both places, but it's the same at Hickory, South Boston, and a few others. Really glad to see Rockingham back on the schedule. SAFER barriers and some basic upgrades to facilities and these places are ready to race, and certain to put on a better show than any of the newer 1 1/2 mile tracks.

It would be awesome to see the trucks run on two roadies again.

Speaking of Mexico. How come they stoped racing there? I didn't enjoy the racing munch. But it was cool to see them some were different. If you want them to go international. I have few tracks I think would be cool. SPA, Silverstone, Monza, Abu Dubai under the lights.

It was only to help get their new series off the ground.

Not to disrespect anybody. Can someone please explain to my why NASCAR "is going down." I have no clue what they mean/ saying. I've been a NASCAR fan for a long time, and I see improvements. Though seeing more short tracks will be awesome, more wrecked cars. Teams aren't going to want to enter their cars knowing that their sheet metal is going to wreck, just to gain some tv time. If it is me, sorry, but I will forever be a NASCAR fan, short track or none. Ratings are just numbers. There will always be a young man/female edging to get into a stock car(like myself.) I'd rather watch the Cup series, then go to my local track. No disrespect to my track, but NASCAR is what drives the short tracks. No NASCAR, no short tracks, right? If someone can explain to me how this Sport is "going down," I will like to know.

It is going down for many reasons. Just to list a few...
-Less short tracks
-The need for SAFER BARRIERS keeping the little tracks down(little as in money and how it is known)
- The racing itself was way better from 05 back to the start of Nascar.
- They allow ESPN to cover Nascar races. Need I say more.

I really hope this is true. Overall, we need more road courses across the board.

I'd love for Mosport to get a race in one of the top three series.

My dream would be to see nascar at my absolute favorite roadie, Laguna Seca. To bad thats never going to happen. The corkscrew would just become a massive junkyard.

I have been a NASCAR fan for 25 years will always be a NASCAR fan, but I can see the quality of racing has gone down and that is why the ratings are going down. Rating may just be a number but those ratings tell potential sponsors how many eyes are on the sport. The more eyes, the more attractive race teams are for sponsors. Teams are having trouble finding sponsors because the casual fans are going away. NASCAR will always have me and you and most of the other people on this site and others like it. But in order to continue growing and attracting more sponsors, they need those casual fans to tune in.

The cookie-cutter tracks are a reason they are going away in my opinion. Again, you and me and other dedicated fans can see the differences in Kansas, Chicago, Vegas, Kentucky (however small they may be ) but fans that don't live and die NASCAR see the same race over and over and tune out. Even I get tired of seeing the same race over and over at these cookie-cutters. It would be ok if the racing was great, but 10 laps after a restart the cars get spaced out and it's follow the leader for 250 laps.

Short track racing give fans non-stop action all over the track which keeps the attention of the casual fan, and mine. It would be great to see NASCAR get back to short track racing and have a little diversity.

I think NASCAR should not only just go back to short tracks but maybe throw a dirt track in there as well. ARCA does it, why can't NASCAR?!

A dirt track? Really? These cars are fragile, you'd not only ruin the engine but the shocks, transmission, bumpers, the cars would be destroyed, they wouldn't grip the track with the tires they have. It's not even a question. The cars are 3400 pounds, they are going to dig holes in the track, pack it down so much, it's going to be like ashphalt anyway, although much bumpier and it will rip the car apart. They're built to be high speed racing machines, not lawn mowers. They cost hundreds of thousands of dollars each. And then to go destroy them in a little dirt track park? Could you even fit all of the haulers, teams and cars in or near the track? It ain't gonna happen. I love dirt racing but it has no place in NASCAR anymore. It would be an absolute financial and physical disaster.

Road courses on the other hand, are right in the zone of a possibility. Road courses are among the most awaited races of the year. Just look at Montreal's attendance! I see this being a real possibility.
