The Year Where It All Goes Right?

Well, Mark Martin has probably had the worst luck of any NASCAR driver. He has four wins this year out of 19 races, a current series high. If he does make the chase, he would be seeded first. Could he actually not be "the best driver to win a championship" after this season is over? Opinions, please.

hopefully, id love to c him win it the last two years of his contract then retire. Thats how i would want to go out

Now if he wins on a track type that he really hates: restrictor plate tracks.

Unfortunately, I don't think he will win. I thought for sure 2007 was Jeff Gordan's year, but he ended up losing even though he won 2 chase races that year. The chase really is all about luck and I think Mark Martin already used up most of his. LOL. I think it is between the 14, 48 and 24 cars this year.

He beat Johnson by 200 something points.

If there was no chase, things would be very different. But that's a whole different argument. Still, I'd like to see Mark Martin win a championship. If anyone has earned it, he has. Even if it's at Tony's expense. Even though I want Tony to take the championship this year, I want Mark to get it more.

But if Jimmie makes the four-peat, the chase will need to be rearranged.
