how do i do that
You go in to the options menu and in there will be a tab that says controller click it and there will be an advanced button click on that and there you have it.
Good luck with the keyboard

I've been using the keyboard for about 10 years now.

Here are some tips for keyboard racing
  • Use default expert setups - Google search "NR2003 Expert Setups Download" to find them; Do NOT mess with setups on your own!
  • Use Driving Assistance AND Traction Control found in Options menu screens
  • Change your acceleration button to the "A" key - this will allow for one hand controlling the gas, and the other for controlling steering & braking
  • Enable automatic shifting

If ya dont want to invest alot of money in another wheel use a joystick. You can get one alot cheaper, and it works fine for me. I been using a joystick since the NR4 days

Yeah works pretty good. I got Forward as gas, Steering is obvious. And the trigger as a brake. Then my gears and clutch is mapped to other keys on it. It works pretty good

I tried using a joystick back in the NR2 days, and I had to give it up. I had the acceleration as a button on the joystick, and for whatever reason, the game wouldn't recognize my pressing that button like it does my pressing the "A" key. So I was always going slower with the stick. Maybe the joysticks of today work better, I don't know, but the keyboard has always been very comfy for me.

For the record, I have dabbled in steering wheels. Had to give those up too because of issues with having to ruin my desk by screwing the wheel down in it, and then not wanting to have to work around the wheel when I wasn't using it. I did find one wheel with these plastic fittings that you'd tighten, but I always ripped the wheel off the desk even with those. :p Keyboard has just been the best option of any.

when I tried the "A" key it said I couldnt use it as accelorate but I use the numbers on the right hand side of the keyboard 1is gas 2 is brake 4(or maybe its 5) is left 5(or maybe 6) is right it works good 4 me
