Please excuse the stupidity but its 3:30AM here, what does that mean? I have a gut feeling he is going to be out for a bit. :( I read that those kind of injuries take around 12 weeks to fully heal depending on severity.

It means he's going to be out for a while. Knowing him though, I'm sure he'll try to drive a lot sooner than he should.

No driver announced yet for The Glen. It'll be interesting to see who they tap though. I sure hope it wont be Obnoxious Jocks V.

Holy damn Tony. Yeah, he's not racing for a while now. Can't put any pressure on that right leg so forget pushing down the pedals.

Somebody get Robby Gordon on the phone!

Seriously, it'll probably be Regan Smith.

If they pick Jaque-strap....then this week could not get any worse. No idea who they will pick, probably a Road Course guy for this week, then from there, who knows. I just hope it's someone decent.

Tony Stewart suffered the same injury Kevin Ware of the Louisville Cardinals suffered in the NCAA Final Four. Recovery time for compound fractures of the tibia and fibula ranges from 4-6 months.

yeah I don't think he will be at the glen, with all that shifting and intense breaking and hitting the gas that would be too much .... he might be out for awhile. Thats two Sprint cup drivers this year eliminated from the chase due to personal injuries, kinda sucks.

I don't think it'll be Regan...he opted out of running the Daytona Cup race last month because he's focused on trying to win a championship in the Nationwide Series.

I really think it'll be Allmendinger but just for shits and giggles Robby Gordon this week...

Wonder if he can just drive one footed for a lap over the next however any races he has to miss just to get points, I could see him doing that. But from the way it sounds. Theres no chance he'll be racing for a bit.

I know Tony is doing what he loves and don't blame him but with the luck he has had lately in the sprint cars, I would have some time away.

And now to try and predict who will be in the 14 for the Glen.

Pretty heartbroken, but just thankful to the Lord that it was just his leg. They can fix that.

Keep running the death traps Tony. Go run a freaking late model if your that bored. Those cars are nothing but an injury waiting to happen. PA guy just got killed in one Saturday night. Enough is enough already. It's time for people to step the hell up and figure out what to do with these out of date unsafe pieces of crap. Never been a sprint car fan, and this just makes me hate it even more.

I don't want to sound like an ass, but what is there to fix that would totally revolutionize the safety of sprint cars? Maintstream motorsports had the Hans Device and SAFER Barriers. Drag racing had the movement of the engine. What can you do to a sprint car to make it safer while still being able to call it a sprint car?

I can't say I know much about sprint cars, or dirt oval racing, but I can't look at a sprint car and say this or that has room for improvement.

Wow, this was a huge blow. Hopefully Tony will learn from this and quit sprint car racing. This year is getting ridiculous.

I honestly do not know. But it's time to start looking at it instead of watching driver after driver after driver get hurt or killed. Josh Burton, Jason Leffler, Kramer Williamson. Hell a guy by the name of Jack Sodeman just broke his back last Friday at Lernerville. What's the last thing they've done to these cars to help the safety? The closed seat? Window nets? I'm a diehard dirt fan, and I personally think it's way more exciting then asphalt, but enough is enough already. I'm a late model guy so maybe I'm biased, but, when you have 4 drivers getting killed in 2 1/2 months it's time to take action. I know I missed one, but I know I read another driver got killed between Burton and Leffler in Area Auto Racing News. Just don't remember his name. And yes, I'm extremely po'ed that my favorite drivers season is essentially over. Might be a good thing then watch the A-Rod of nascar win another stupid title. I don't really have a 2nd favorite so I probably won't watch much except Talladega if Smoke isn't running. Just how it is.

First off, I wish Tony the best and for a speedy recovery as he tries to come back from his injury.

Secondly, I just caved and created a Twitter account to petition for Bobby Labonte to run in the #14 this weekend, since Allmendinger's driving the #47. Other than Labonte, I could see someone like Max Papis running the 14. He did supposedly test for the team at Road Atlanta a few weeks back.

I know they had an incident in 2010...

But they could get Boris Said in the car.

Or for the lulz, Robby Gordon.
