Look on this side, Townley hasn't been close to be winning a Nationwide race at all, Lets also figure out this, Did he just come roaming through the Series, Or did he have practice in another series like Late Models, ARCA Re\Max, Techniclly, Any Series that involves stock cars, Did he race in them? If he didn't, This is the result of why he's getting fired, Lack of exp, Wrecking every freking race, Creating rivials and Never coming close to winning a single race in Nationwide. He has only been in the NNS for bout 2 1\2 seasons and has only gotton himself maybe 3 or 4 top 5s, i might stand uncorrectly, Possibly only a couple top 10s and thats it. So, Think to yourself, Did he ever have practice in a Stock Car before coming into this series, Cause when you wreck and all, Thats the result of getting fired.

He raced in ARCA and the Trucks before his Busch stint. And he's terrible there as well.

If it weren't for Zaxby's, he would have given up NASCAR sometime during June of last year.

Townley...20 years old...3 years of ARCA, 24 races, 0 wins, 3 top-5's, 10 top -10's mostly in '08 in RAB racing's car. 7 CWTS starts, no top 10's, in Roush trucks. 3 years of NNS, no top-10's, again mostly in RAB racing's car. 2 K&N East starts..nothing.

I am going to say this Townley is lucky. Any other big team would of have fired him. Childress hasnt, Childress see something in him and wants to work with him. For all we know when Townley does get back in we might see a different driver.

Casey Mears will be driving the #21 at Nashville and Kentucky, and Bowyer wants even more races (7 at most, probably more, though) in the car.

But don't worry. Townley is getting better and better with every passing week by watching other men drive his car! Look at how well it worked for Brandon Miller!

RCR's driver developement is turning into a joke they cant stick with a driver for more than a 5 races unless your name is Austin Dillion. In all farness Townley tears up alot of stuff.

Townley is pretty much Childress' only option as far as a driver to replace Harvick goes (Unless he just handpicks a driver from the cesspool of failed-careers, as seems to be a trend nowadays). Based on these episodes, however, I don't expect Townley or Zaxby's to return to RCR come next season.

Tim George Jr isnt doing that bad in his ARCA car.

Its money and I dont see Zaxby's complaining.

Tim George Jr. is horrible.

(Oh, and he'll be driving the road courses. Initially, it was in a second car, but that's probably changed)

Well he might be but the only race I saw he finished 3rd.

And Clint said he wants to drive the car that is up to RC. I am sure they dont have townley just sitting around. You know Townley is lucky he isnt fired and has someone like RC to help him and try to improve his abilities. Despite what you may think of some of RCR's drivers he couldnt be in a better place to learn.

George has been improving...at 29 in his 3rd ARCA season he has 2 top 5's and 4 top 10's, but one of the top 5's and two of the top 10's were in the first five races of this season, in RCR stuff. Mind you George started 8th and finished 8th at Palm Beach (road course).

Pretty sure that will never ever happen. I'd rather chose a 10 year old girl replace Harvick then that Townley guy. Townley's the worst driver I've ever seen.

Let see

Bobby Labonte(2000 Champion)
David Reutimann
Elliott Sadler
Jamie McMurray
Denny Hamlin(unless he signed Extension and I didnt hear about or missed it)
all of these drivers and more have contracts that end this year a few of them arnt failed-Careers and some just haven't been with a decent team in a few years.

I have to disagree with the Austin Dillon remark from above. That kid has shown as much talent as some of the other well-kown drivers out there and even has the finishes to back it up. I was there in Martinsville watching him drive his way from 16th place into the top-8 before a small run in and let me tell you he can drive a car. Give the boy a few years to develop and he will be fine.

I totally agree and he is a great kid and the fact he knows that racing has its ups and downs so he is still going thru with School.

When the Gen Mills said they where coming over to RCR I was hoping like hell Bobby was coming with them.
Just the thought of 2 well respected Vets , Happy, and Bowyer would have been awesome team.

I know. Bobby would've been in chase contention with Childress and three really good teammates to share notes with. Now he's got nobody to share notes with, and with Petty, he had Kyle Petty in his later years (and occasionally, Chad McCumbee). (insert cringe here)

Tell is about now that the real reason for all this is that Townley just doesn't want to race anymore. (Which actually explains why Hal Martin was in his ARCA car at Talladega).

That's a shame, because the kid has shown that he's capable of driving a racecar under the right circumstances - Ultimately, his critics are what's ruined his career. It's times like these that we need to step back and remind ourselves that drivers have feelings too.
