This is just stupid. The teams can do what they like but they are killing the sport all on their own.

Ryan is a good driver but why not run 2 cars? why shelf bayne who has performed thus far....

just more stupidity in my mind.

What doesn't make sense is that they let him go due to "lack of sponsorship" yet OUT Pet Care comes on board to sponsor TWO racecars. With the money there putting in the 00 they could have run next week. MWR/DWR must have there head stuck up there you know whats or something...

Ya, its pretty obvious they do. Just making excuses to bring in Ryan and not have to worry about him. Gimme a break.

I hope Roush tries to hold on to Bayne. After all, David Ragan can't keep wrecking cars forever...

And the funny/sad part is, I honestly think that DWR is a better NNS team right now than the Roush teams. At least the 6/16 teams, so in a sense, he was forced to take a step down.

^I would have to disagree with you there...I think the problem with the 6/16 is purely driver...

Stenhouse is extremely unimpressive, and Braun has had really crappy luck.

Put Bayne in the 16 next season, and give Darnell his rightful place, which he earned from his impressive truck/limited NWide time time, in the 6.

Stenhouse has improved, but I don't think he has nearly the talent Braun has. Jack just likes him better, so he gets more seat time. Colin is the purer talent, and deserves a ride too...but I wouldn't put him in either car over Braun or Darnell.

Well, if Bayne ends up in the 16 fulltime next year, we'll have to see. I honestly think the Roush cars have just been off this year (not including Carl) and that the 6/16 have been in so many wrecks because they're pushing their cars harder than they will go.

The 6/16 pushing? Yes.

Pushing the cars harder than they can go? No.

Pushing the cars harder than the inexperienced drivers can handle? Definitely.

Colin and Ricky were driving over their heads earlier this season...they've both settled down nicely, though...Colin more so than Ricky.

All I'm saying is if the 6 and 16 were any better this year (as a whole, a team), then we would have seen the results. They may be inexperienced, but Stenhouse and Braun do have the pure talent needed to run well week in and week out. They have wrecked a lot of cars this year, but were they running that well in the first place? Most of the time the answer would be no. Maybe a top 15, top 20 run going when something would happen.

It's not like the 6/16 haven't had good runs. They've just got caught up in either other people's problems, or problems of their own making. As far as I'm concerned, MWR is still inferior to the Roush cars. Although they're with Carl, Roush has the wins this year, MWR does not.

According to Bob Pockrass, Bayne will drive Roush's #17 for the rest of the year.

Nevertheless, I do agree that Bayne going to Roush is a downgrade from DWR, in the sense that he's going from the top gun there to getting Edwards' leftovers.

Definitely. They must have funding....

Very, very, very rarely does Jack ever roll out a car if it doesn't have a sponsor...being the smart businessman that he is.

Makes me wonder why Erik never got a chance...given he is still muddled being Carl's personal test driver.

...or, maybe the drivers they have for this week all have sponsorship commitments, and Jack didn't want to mess with those. He seemed pretty excited about Bayne earlier in the week, so we'll have to see. I don't see 4 (actually 5 counting the 98 of Menard, which runs under the RFR banner in NWide), running after this week. Bayne will probably end up in either the 6 or 16 for the rest of the year. It was probably just too late to get anything other than a 4th car set up for him, pronto, logistically.

Wow. DWR is unbelievable. They're kicking out Bayne for lack of funding, and bringing in Truex with no funding? God, they're so stupid. I don't think it's entirely out of question to see Bayne driving a cup car in a few races next year. He's been unbelievable this year. He's had like what, 6 poles? He's come so close to a win a few times. He's my favorite Nationwide series driver, I guarantee you that in 3 years, MWR will be kicking themselves because Bayne will be in the chase with another team.

...not kicking out Bayne, as much as it is kind of a mutual dissolution.

Bayne had a stipulation in his contract about not being funded next year...and since they aren't, Bayne and them split early so he could be preemptive on securing a new ride.

Little Truex comes on board because he is a development driver under contract with MWR/DWR...plain and simple. They needed to fill the seat, and hopefully they can secure funding for him in 2011.
