TNT Revs Up for NASCAR Coverage: TNT's presentation of the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will feature all-access coverage throughout the six-week NASCAR Summer Series. TNT's coverage will start Sunday, June 8, at Pocono, continuing throughout the summer with behind-the-scenes content featuring a select driver and their team, along with special "off the track" segments and more.
The Toyota Camry Test Car, a new addition for this year's race coverage, will take viewers inside the car and bring them closer to the action. TNT analysts Kyle Petty and Wally Dallenbach will use the car for pre-race driving segments on the track, taking viewers into the turns and down the straightaways before the green flag drops each week. Additionally, the car will be a resource for analyst Larry McReynolds during the race as the former crew chief will outline key performance features and mechanical challenges during the race.
TNT will once again follow a driver and their team over the course of the entire week as they travel and prepare for the upcoming race, with coverage beginning when the driver leaves the previous track and continuing throughout the network's next NASCAR Summer Series telecast. Featured drivers will include #42-Kyle Larson (Pocono), #3-Austin Dillon (Michigan) and #47-AJ Allmendinger (Daytona), among others. The all-access pieces will air during the pre-race Countdown to Green served by Sonic show.
The network will return its marquee commentator crew with analysts Petty, Dallenbach and McReynolds joining play-by-play announcer Adam Alexander for each race. Alexander will also host the network's 60-minute Countdown to Green served by Sonic pre-race show with Petty, Dallenbach and McReynolds. In addition, veteran reporters Ralph Sheheen, Marty Snider, Matt Yocum and Chris Neville will patrol pit road to bring viewers comprehensive coverage and access prior to and during each race.(Turner Sports)(5-29-2014)

Turner Sports has covered NASCAR since 1981 I believe so this marks the end of 33 years of broadcasting Cup racing. Obviously their largest contribution was producing all of the coverage for NBC from 2001-2006, when Turner-produced races aired throughout the entire second half of the season. Over the years, Turner's lead broadcasters have been Ken Squier (1981-1998), Allen Bestwick (1999-2004), Bill Weber (2005-2008), Ralph Sheheen (2009), and finally Adam Alexander (2010-present).

I hope they make a final compilation on their last race of at least 5 minutes about their great moments.

Wally is my favorite color broadcaster. AA isn't bad as a play by play guy.
Wonder how good nbc will be?
I really need to start watching and muting the volume and having the radio guys coverage.
I hate fox with a passion.
"Old" ESPN was great, miss those days.

Gonna deeply miss Double A and Wally. Won't miss KP one bit.

TNT's coverage, I feel, has never been as bad as some say. I'm honestly still saddened to see them go.

Thank God we only have one more summer of Kyle Petty loudly slurping Jimmie Johnson.

Fox would be so much better if the Waltrips didn't try to out jackass each other every broadcast

TNT was a lot better with Benny parsons and bill webber. Kyle petty will be on nbcsn but I hope he's not in the booth, and I guess I'm the only one that doesn't have a problem with fox and the waltrips

I don't mind TNT, but they are probably going to mail it in this season since they have no future. I am looking forward to next year's NBC coverage though. Allen, Burton, and Letarte will be an awesome booth. At least there's that to look forward to.

I'm with you. Personally, I think Wally sucks. He's better off doing IndyCar. He just doesn't add anything of substance, he's not charismatic in any way, and he shows zero emotion. Not to mention, I can't stand when he uses open-wheel terminology like "over-steer" and "under-steer". I know thats a small thing, but its just one of those pet peeves that bugs me.

I've said it before, but the TNT broadcast team sounds more like golf commentators than anything else. Cars are four-wide with crazy stuff happening everywhere, and everyone is completely silent, followed by Wally with a quiet "wow...", then the obligatory "incredible" from Petty. The lack of any enthusiasm whatsoever makes the broadcast very dull.

I prefer Fox as well. I know some people don't like DW, and I can understand why, but his enthusiasm gets me excited. The fact that he (and the rest of the team) are genuinely enjoying things (and naturally expressing it) makes a big difference for me. And he is very knowledgeable too. Some may not like the delivery, but the man knows what he's talking about.

Not to mention, I'd clone Larry Mac 10 times over if I could. One of the best and smartest personality's in the sport. I could listen to that man talk racing all day long. And when he gets into telling stories on SiriusXM NASCAR or a podcast like 'Marty and McGee', its the greatest stuff I've ever heard. He's also one of the nicest people I've ever met.

So basically it wont be any different, since it seems like they mail it in every year...

I agree with you there. Dw makes the race more exciting that's for sure. And for Larry Mac he knows his stuff was able to meet him at talladega in 2012.

As opposed to DW loudly slurping Danica

At least DW can use his three championships, 84 wins and NASCAR Hall of Fame induction to inject a little racing knowledge into the booth. Petty just blabs out half assed opinions and talks about "What the fans want" in the most condescending way possible.

I love Fox, I would love if they could cover the entire season. DW is very enjoyable to listen to for me and in my opinion they have the best commentators in the sport.
