Turner Sports readies for final season of Cup coverage

I love DW, but when Michael takes any part of the broadcast they both start acting like fools, especially Michael. FOX used to be great, but ever since they introduced Digger that one season I feel FOX has turned slowly into a sports comedy.

Get rid of Michael and go back to the older more serious broadcast style, and FOX is golden.

Glad to see I'm not the only fan of DW. Yeah, his "buggity buggity buggity" can be, well, really freakin' corny at times, he does bring a lot of passion and enthusiasm, not to mention his knowledge. That being said, I have noticed that all three of the Fox guys have gradually started to have more and more slipups over the past couple years. It's probably not even really noticeable to most observers, so it's not a huge deal, but I can understand why some people aren't Fox fans.

IMO the Fox production has gone steadily down hill. The screen is showing a car in flames against the wall and the announce team is talking about Danica's great pass into 25th. After 5 minutes of commercials and a missed restart the announce team is wildly excited about a tire going down on JJ's car with the screen showing JR's onboard camera of him easing down the backstretch.

They do have more have slipups because they are, well, older. I mean those three are 13 years older than when they got together. Also I believe Waltrip’s contract is up and I have not seen any extension announcement. Don't forget next year is a new TV contract for FOX and sometimes networks like to shake things up as new contracts come along.

I think they should have made changes when they saw ratings where dropping like a rock over the past couple of years. The cost of cutting dead weight would have covered by the increase in ad revenue due to higher ratings

I miss Benny Parson's in the booth big time. I can't stand Kyle Petty though, all everyone does on TNT is try to yell over eachother all the time.

Mike Joy from FOX is probably my favorite right now. DW isn't that bad and Mikey is hilarious.

TNT and ESPN have the more professional broadcasts these days.
