I heard the sticking point of the talks is jr. wants 51% of DEI.I think he would do a good job,BUT I don't see Theresa giving up control.I think if he leaves and Bud will follow,he'll head to RCR.Will he still have the number 8?I believe DEI has the rights to that number so IF he moves then he'll need to decide if he wants the #3 or a new number.

They said last night that Tony Eury Jr made the statement that DEI would fold inside of 2 years if he left... that's pretty bold. In addition, Stewart was quoted a few times as saying DEI would be nothing more than a museum if JR left... I tend to agree.. If you take all his earnings, sponsorship, diecast and tshirt sales away... that's a ton of cash walking out the door.

Theresa almost has to give in to his demands to keep the doors open.

JGR seems like a great fit to me. He's really good friends with Tony and Denny, J.J. hasn't really been performing all that well. How long can Interstate Batteries fork over the kind of money it takes to fund a team? To top it off Jr. is a huge Redskins fan. Big name drivers with big name sponsers seems like the perfect fit.

I think you'll see Jr, Tony Jr and Budweiser all at RCR next year. Goodwrench will be more of assoicate sponsor on the car. The car will be number 3

I do think that Earnhardt will leave DEI, if DEI still dose not preform by the the end of the year and RCR is still doing great.

If he does leave (Which I hope he does), I know some people that had worked at Dale Earnhardt Sr's Chevy dealership for a long time that have told me that Childress will not bring the #3 back until Dale's mother dies. She didnt want to see that number on track again and Childress promised her that.

So if he still does go with what he told her, Earnhardt Jr will be in another car number for RCR. But either way I do think Budweiser will leave DEI if he goes, maybe Tony Jr and some other sponsors.

If he leaves I see him going to RCR plain and simply.

I read somewhere that Tony Jr. would leave IF Jr. left DEI. I really hope Theresa gives in and lets Jr. have the 51% that he wants. DEI needs something to get them back to where they were a few years ago. If not I see Jr., Budweiser and Tony Jr. at RCR next year.

I don't see that she has a choice in the matter. I mean, if Jr. leaves, what is she left with?

Let's not forget that she is a very smart business woman. She helped tremendously in making the Earnhardt name what it is today, even Sr. said that without her help, that he wouldn't have been the "personality" he was without her business savvy.

She's not stupid, I am sure in the end she will do the smart business decision and let Jr. have want he demands.

Yup exactly what I was thinking Matt. He'll get everything he wants. DEI can't survive without him.

AT least

They could at least slowley involve him in ownership. I hope this dont hurt him this season.

I think he really wants to drive the #3...Couple years at RCR and with RCR help off to JR Motorsports. RCR seems to help drivers build their own deals for the future..For Example DEI, KHI and even that Robby Gordon character.
