I heard they may not be leaving entirely...
someone else said they were but the company is just going to sponsor a car or two...
and this is all after the announcement that they were pulling out for good...

Can someone explain what the situation is with them?

This is what my understanding of what's going on.

Red Bull the energy drink company is pulling out as team owners but Red Bull Racing the racing organization run by Jay Frye is trying to find investors to keep keep the team running next year and beyond. Red Bull may still sponsor Cole Whitt and/or a cup driver but does not want to own a team any longer. It takes time to get investors lined up and signed in this economy so the team doesn't know for sure if they will be back next year. Hope this clears it up.

Its not Red Bull Racing thats trying to find investors, its Jay Frye himself who is the general manager of Red Bull Racing. The RBR owners (who live/operate out of Austria) have opted to pull out of NASCAR so Jay Frye is trying to start his own team with the current RBR infastructure that is in place.

I would hope that it's Red Bull Racing (ALL the team members helping).

Yea it sounds like if things happen the way he wants them to, he would essentially be taking over the team as it stands now. I imagine there would be some changes though. In my opinion, that team hasnt maximized its full potential or continued to grow because of the current owners. Jay Frye is a smart guy when it comes to racing and I think he knows what needs to take place in order for that team to get better. I'm sure that would mean some personnel being replaced, but hopefully it isnt a whole team worth of people that lose jobs, if in fact this all happens.

Maybe I will win the lottery and can become one of the owners/investors!!!!!!!

I can dream right? It wouldn't be the first time something like that happens!
